Deeper than you might think
I saw this movie the first time thinking that it would be a darkly humorous flick. The satire's there, so's the wit. But Critical Care is as much about the right to a dignified natural death as it is satirizing the hospital system. James Spader is in nice-guy mode in this one, championing a man he never spoke with and didn't know until Spader comes across him in the hospital ward. Without giving away the whole story, I found the ending to be both human and real.Lire l'avis complet...
Great satire of the current state of medical ethics.
I love this movie! I have a frequently watched VHS copy but wanted it on DVD. Spader is brilliant as the stressed out Medical Resident trying to care for a patient on life support while balancing what is right for the patient vs family interests and medical insurance. And don't forget that pesky malpractice. As a fan who's in the business I find this movie very thought provoking and scary and not all that far from what we see in real life.Lire l'avis complet...
Critical Care
Couldn't find this one to rent on Netflix. It's a pretty good depiction of the problems dealing with old folks' hospitalization, and from my personal experience, shows typical behavior of relatives. I'm a fan of James Spader, which is why I got the movie. But it's one of the better hospital movies.Lire l'avis complet...
