Creative Muvo V100 1GB MP3 Player

It certainly isn't the best, but it's not the worst. If you only have $50 to spend, then it is very good.

What I like is the control are easy to operate and understand. The headphone jack is in a good place, and if you have had one of the awkward ones, then you know what I mean - You can hold this one and operate it with the headphone plugged in. Some are hard to operate after you plug in the headphone cuz it is to near the controls. This one is good.

Controls are: Power On/Off button, Volume UP button, Volume DOWN button, and a multi-function wheel. The wheel flicks up or down to move between songs. If you push down on it, you go into the menu. I won't get into the menu cuz I never use it much, but you can adjust the equalizer ( you don;t always get that for $50, and you can select different music folders. You can organizer your tunes into these music folders rather than have them all in one big root folder, but you can still do that if you want to.

What I don't like is, when using the wheel to move to the next song, you must be VERY careful cuz it is sensitive, and you may actually go into the menu system rather than go to the next or previous song as desired.

Also the battery door slides off to let you install a single AAA battery, although when you plug the USB into your PC, you can load up songs without a battery inside. But the problem is the door is so tiny and made from brittle plastic, I just KNOW this is going to break before long. so be VERY careful when removing and installing the battery cover. If it does break, I got duct tape.

The other thing I don't like is the display and font are TINY. I mean SMALL people, you need a freakin' microscope to see this thing. Hey Creative Labs, come on and fix that will ya, there's room on this for a larger display!

All in all, it does work as advertised and it's better than the last one I had in the $50-range.

Great for music, but outstanding for spoken audio (audio books, lectures, etc.)

I listen to a lot of spoken audio, as well as music. I love these players, and I have many of them.

Pros:

The controls are easy to use without looking at the device, to move forwards and backwards, and to rewind or fast forward, as well as to control the volume.

So if I am walking, I can leave it my pocket. If I am driving, it can stay in my lap.

I like that the battery is standard AAA. I use rechargeable batteries, but I I don't have one handy, I can use a regular battery.

The device plugs into a USB port, and it appears as another drive on my computer, etc. So it is easy to add and remove files.

It plays MP3 and WMA audio files.

It has 4 folders, so you can put everything in one folder and play the files in order, or randomly, and it can repeat. Or, you can split up your files into the different folders, and within each folder, play the files in order, randomly, etc., with repeats.

Cons:

The device uses a USB 1 connection, so it is slow to load audio files.

The screen is small, but it is still useable.

Fantastic player!

It does not need special batteries - regular AAA's. It can plug directly into your computer's USB port to get music. It has better signal-to-noise ratio than the ipod. It is simple to use. It is very small and easy to carry around. Also very durable.
Best of all, it has a FIVE BAND EQUALIZER! This means you can change the sound if you have different types of headphones or if you prefer a particular type of sound. No dumb EQ presets like on the ipod that don't even sound different from each other. No, you can make this little thing sound just the way you like it.
I cannot believe Creative stopped making them. They show up on Ebay and fly right out of there with people bidding on them quite regularly. I have a collection of them just in case one goes out, but so far after using them for years not a single one has stopped working.

Creative MuVo V100 is a terrific mp3 player, buy one if you can find one.

When mp3 players started becoming popular, I looked for a reasonably priced one for my son. We found our first MuVo at Wal-Mart. It was so inexpensive that we actually researched whether something was wrong with it. Turns out that Creative was just not that well known at the time, but the product is sterling. I ended up buying one for myself. We have each had our 1G MuVo for years now, and they work PERFECTLY. My son's new car stereo has a USB plug and the MuVo played as well or better than CD's, but holds as many files as a dozen CDs. Recently, someone bumped it and jarred the MuVo's USB unit loose, and it won't play right in the car, but it still works as a hand-held (with a little jiggling). So, off to search for a replacement only to find that Creative MuVo is now well known, and scarce as hen's teeth. MuVo are great units, more intuitive than IPODs, small, light & dependable. I was thrilled to locate this unit in "like-new" condition, with twice the memory of the unit it will replace. I will now carry two in my purse everywhere, and have enough musical entertainment to last for days, all in the space of a deck of cards. Everything about the MuVo units is easy. They are easy to load, (slide files in), easy to maintain, easy to operate, easy to understand. If you are lucky enough to find one, grab it. I saw on some sites a newer version, more "IPODish", and I am not even interested in those. The newer ones do not have the clean lines and pocketable portability of the older MuVo units. I can't say enough good about Creative MuVo for the music lover.Lire l'avis complet...

great MP3 player

I listen to audio books in MP3 format. The Muvo series is very small and compact, and fits into by pocket easily. I've owned and worn out two Muvo TX 1GB MP3 players. Since Creative has discontinued this series I've only been able to find replacements on E-Bay.

The Muvo is perfect for listening to audio books as it will begin playing in the place at which it was shut down and turned off. If the battery quits after having listened for an extended time, the progressive scan is able to fast forward through a track quickly. I prefer replaceable batteries. I use rechargeable AAA batteries and keep a couple with me at all times. As with MP3's that have an non-replaceable batteries, a power outlet is not always available for a re-charge.

I am disappointed the Creative discontinued this series. The new series is good, but not in the way in which I use it.

Muvo is a great purchase for simple mp3 players.

This is the 5th creative MP3 I have owned and I am completely satisfied. I am an equipment operator, welder, and a snow skier. This MP3 is well suited for all of these tasks. Welding creates magnetic dust and the device had no problems. Equipment operations subjects this device to shock and dust particles, neither were a problem. And skiing exposes device to shock, moisture and cold this was no bother. I also like the fact I can use batteries instead of having to rely on charging. Batteries are so much more convenient. I would say this is one of the greatest products because of its simplicity.Lire l'avis complet...

Creative's Muvo V100

It's compact, simple to operate, and disposable battery operated. I have no dislikes about this MP3 player, for it serves my purpose with quality music, ant a reasonable price. I bought this player after owning a 1 Gig Muvo, 2 Gigs means more music to enjoy. I use a boostaroo to step up the volume and quality sound, and use a high en "in-ear" headfone to get great results.Lire l'avis complet...

Creative MP3 Player

I bought one of these and liked it so much that I bought 2 more. It has excellent sound quality, is very easy to load, holds a ton of songs and is priced right. If you want a small inexpensive player that is easy to operate and runs on one (1) AAA batt., this is the unit for you. Good product and fast shipping.Lire l'avis complet...
