Great movie , I will watch it again in a year or two, the characters were believable the plot was fun, and the ending was classic Hollywood.

Delightful romantic comedy! Loved the last 15 minutes (SPOILER ALERT COMING NOW!) when the girl proved to the Mom she could have won her man- as well as the MahJong game-, but is letting it all go for the good of his family. Wretched excess at its funniest!
This romantic dramedy---set mostly in Singapore--- is a feast for the eyes. While you drool over the beautiful all-Asian actors, gorgeous settings and outrageously over the top clothes and jewelry, this movie also presents the famous street food culture of the island state and the social context of homemade dim sum.
The latent and not so latent prejudices against Asians and their reaction to it is depicted in a great opening sequence; as well, the social hierarchy of the rich versus the not-so-rich are explored---all in a lighthearted way.
Based on the first of three novels by Kevin Kwan---who claims he only exaggerated slightly---this movie makes you eagerly await the next two which are apparently going to be filmed back to back. Can't wait!Lire l'avis complet...

Crazy Rich Asians
It's a great movie, a good mix of family drama and romcom. If you look at it as a fun snapshot of a fictional family, and a movie that follows the American tradition of romcoms while featuring an all Asian cast (a Hollywood first,) you would know not to take it so seriously. For those who bitterly complained about another culture being misrepresented, stop thinking you're someone you are not. I highly recommend this movie.Lire l'avis complet...
