Bold and Unconventional, Queen Christine of Sweden
This book provides an unusual insight into the European Thirty Years War and its aftermath, as seen through the eyes of Sweden's Vasa Dynasty, their allies and foes. While the author is curiously biased against Queen Christine, she does bring worthwhile personal opinions as well as primary source details into the telling of Christina's remarkable life. Portrayed as extraordinarily clumsy in international diplomacy, Christina was nonetheless highly skilled in building a life for herself that was exceptionally free for a female of the 1600's. Well worth reading, both to broaden historical understanding and to bring a smile of pride for a woman's life unconventionally lived.Lire l'avis complet...
