Great value camera, features vrs. price and end results, go buy one.

I purchased this camera for vacation and used it for the first time on this vacation. It was very easy to get used to all the capabilities this camera has. The on screen menus are displayed well and mannuvering around them is easy. It took a little practice getting used to using the telephoto lens and dealing with keeping the camera steady, but the built in image stabilizer helped a lot. The camera performed very well and took excellent pictures. The picture quality upon printing them out, was excellent, with vibrant colors. Overall this camera was an excellent value and should be considered if you don't want to spend a lot of money but still get a feature latent camera that delivers ease of operation and life like pictures.Lire l'avis complet...

Image stabilization questionable

I bought this to replace an older powershot IS with 12 megapixels and a 6x zoom. That camera was excellent although I always wanted a little more zoom. The image stabilization on that camera was excellent, and one reason why I stayed with the canon product. This camera however... the stabilization is questionable at best. I did read a review that had this exact comment, but I bought it anyway. I hope it is just something I will get used to. The beauty of Digital cameras is you can just keep taking them til you get a good one and delete the bad ones. Remember when you paid to see how bad they were on film...Lire l'avis complet...

Great camera for the price.

I lost my previous camera and bought this one to replace it. It takes great pictures, easy to use and absolutely love the grid lines in the view finder - makes it so easy to select the zoom and center what you want to take a picture of. I know the cell phones have cameras built in, but the quality of the pictures and the ability to adjust the zoom makes it worthwhile to carry both to special events.Lire l'avis complet...

Some great improvements, some improvements still needed.

I would have given this camera the full 5 stars if it weren't for a few things that bothered me. 1) Why switch the way the batteries load? 2) Why switch the delete button on the back? 3) Why are there purple/pink balls around bright lights, especially the sun (that wasn't an issue with the SX130 I had)? 4) Why is there a purple-tinted area in a lot of my photos when taking sunset shots? This line also still needs improvement on low-light photography - refuses to focus and very grainy.

As for improvements, the macro works far better than the 130, much sharper images. And the added features such as Super Vivid, Fish Eye, Toy Camera Effect, etc...are cool effects to play with!

Overall, I gave this a 4/5.

Great product for the money, and beautiful photos in all settings!.

Great crystal clear photos from this camera! Many & great features that can be used and changed for anywhere from the beginner to a more seasoned/professional photographer. Very simple to use, and there is even a setting where you can have the camera explain what each setting is for and how it is to be used, so for beginners it basically tells you what setting is best for what kind of photo you want to take and guides you through different steps to go up through the levels to become a more seasoned photographer! Very good camera, but the only issue and drawback is with the flash, it takes kinda long for the flash to recharge to take another photo! Otherwise if you know your way around a camera and the different settings and know what some of the terms and settings mean, you can get great looking photos on a different setting without the flash, and still have a well lit photo in a low light situation!Lire l'avis complet...

Canon Cameras

The Canon line is well worth their price range for the quality of pictures they produce.
The only [minor] negative about them is the consumption battery power that the camera drains.
Pays to have spare back up (2 AA ) batteries on hand when using the camera for extended periods of shooting. Best results is with a pair of the NiCad RECHARGEABLE AA batteries [ with a CHARGER ] to keep down the cost of HAVING TO REPLACE STANDARD AA batteries.Lire l'avis complet...

OK camera, EXCELLENT video camera, Eats batteries, needs SD card to use.

OK camera, Excellent Video camera. I'm happy with it, but I was hoping it would do a little better capturing slight movements without bluring. I haven't had it very long so maybe I just don't have it set right yet. The video capture is AMAZING, no seriously... AMAZING! It does eat through batteries but I expected that. Also, doesn't have built in memory so you do have to buy an SD card.

Overall a good camera, I'm happy to own it and once I figure it out a little better I think it will be a great camera for the price.

Canon Power Shot is great- 4 and 1/2 stars

I bought this camera as a replacement for an old Olympus point and shoot with a rechargeable battery thinking this would be better for when I was away from a convenient electrical outlet.

But this camera goes through batteries like Grant went through Richmond. I've tried several types but they all seem to be much shorter lived than the old Olympus Lithium recharge I had. The disposable Lithiums seem to be the best but there's the problem of disposal. I'm knocking off a half star for this.

Other than that, I love the camera and haven't used nearly all the features yet.

I do not have buyers remose on this camera. I recommed it to anyone.

I bought this camera to take with me for a planned trip to Southern Africa in 2012. I did not want to take a chance and leave my Canon T2i in a strange place by accident. This Canon Power Shot SX150 IS seemed to fit the bill. I was looking for a camera to take both stills and video that uses AA batteries as I know I can purchase them anywhere in the world. I bought a Canon because I trust the name and quality. I have had excellent results thus far experimenting various conditions I will face. I've lived in that part of the world before and I know where I will be living while there. It will range from modern city life to bush country and game reserves. The camera does take a little getting use to as there can be a slight pause between shots. Video takes a lot of battery so it would be good to have at least 8 charged batteries going with me. I am taking a battery charger and a converter. The record button for video is not placed very well on the camera but knowing that and accepting it for what I want to do does not create problems for me. The color is Canon quality and the 12x zoom will be adequate because patience in the reserves is rewarded by getting very close to the wildlife. I purchased 2 16GB cards, Hopefully I can remember one is for stills and the other for video. One thing I have learned when purchasing a new camera for a specific reason i.e. Africa game reserves, one needs to take a lot of shots before going to learn the characteristics of the camera.Lire l'avis complet...
