CANON PIXMA IP90

It is compact and very portable, perfect for use with a laptop at other locations. Print quality is excellent and it can be operated from an optional rechargeable battery, giving the user total freedom from external power sources (with a laptop). On the downside, the ink cartridges have a very short life and the only cost effective solution is to buy generics in bulk on the internet. I have had mixed results from Canon printers in the past but to be fair I can say the same of HP and Epson. Portable printers like this tend to be pricey, about four times what you would pay for a comparable non-portable printer, but the convenience justifies the expense. I would not recommend one of these for someone who needed a home printer unless space was at a super premium.Lire l'avis complet...

Pixie pixma

I bought this printer for less than half the price that I would have paid in Israel for it even with the postage. I live in area that suffers from blackouts and the included car adapter gave me insurance. The main reason was to have a photo printer that would not take up too much space to record our first grandchild baby photos. Having performed the drudgeries of a color darkroom it was like graduating from a manual typewriter (for those who still remember) to a wordprocessor. The ink cartridges are expensive in Israel so ebay will probably be my source for consumables as well. Setup was straightforward. The first pictures were pinkos but the troubleshooting process cleared it up.
This is definitely a niche printer for those who need a portable (I am still looking to buy a battery) small footprint printer that produces quality results. It won't compete with my laser but then the laser won't go along on trips. The power supply is multivoltage and will thus serve road warriors.

Good product for a couple of years then no longer works. Short term Printer

I have had this Printer for a couple of years. It is great for portability and the ink is fairly inexpensive compared to other printers ink. The DOWNSIDE is that after a couple of years you start to get an error message "waste ink absorber full" and you can override this message for about 2 weeks then the printer completely stops printing. It tells you to call Canon tech support. They will tell you to just buy a new printer. To ship it to them or take it somewhere to be serviced will cost as much as a new printer. Unless you are completely Tech Savy and can figure out how to clean it out yourself (taking apart the printer) and then figuring out what the reset code is....Canon NEGLECTS to tell you this before purchasing their product. SO, for a great portable printer for a couple of years this will be a good choice.Lire l'avis complet...

When it dies, I'll try to find another portable Canon Printer!

This Ip 90 replaces my I70. It is faster & better in several ways; yet uses the same ink cartridges! I had a bunch left for my I70, so this was a money-saver. I love Canon Travel Printers. Mine fits in my attache case & goes where I go. No, it is NOT as fast as usual desktop printers, but with this one, I can print anywhere with ease....Heads do not seem to dry out, even in our dry desert weather I LOVE IT!Lire l'avis complet...

Good little printer

We bought this Pixma ip90V because we have an older ip90 that we use quite a bit. We take it with us when we travel internationally. It packs easily. But since we spend a fair amount of our year in Panama, we thought it would be good to have one there. This new(er) ip90V uses the same ink cartridges as our old one so that was a bonus. We are very happy with the quality of the printer as well as happy with the printing itself.Lire l'avis complet...

The best/smallest, porta-printer for travel ever made, high qual. printing.

This was the smallest best travel/portable printer ever made. It puts out high quality prints just like a full size desk top printer. They stopped making them and travel pro's have been chasing these down ever since. The only thing I wish it had was a built in battery for full portability, however, in the interim Canon introduced an add on battery that comes with a matching silver cover.
This unit is rugged and lasts, I traveled world-wide for 10 years with mine before it finally rolled over, though I had to service it a time or two,,,not a problem.
I was THRILLED to find a virtually "new" in the box on E-Bay,,,natch! It's working perfectly having been in the box for almost 10 years.
I fit this printer, a small power feed scanner and my 11" Tough-Book all into a standard, low profile Halliburton case. So, it gives me a copier as well. My job requires that I take up a small footprint,,,this printer made it eminently possible.
Really,,,a nice piece of equipment, most importantly for me, smaller that the 100 which is 1/2' bigger and would not fit in a standard case with everything else.

How good do I think this porta-printer is and how pleased am I with this unit??

I'm thinking of buying a "Spare".

Should have known better

When something seems to good to be true... I had one of these years ago, and I loved it. However, this printer didn't pair with my older Mac. I could live with that. My old Toshiba recognized it, but when I tried to print a document, the feeder on the printer insisted on running five blank pages before jamming. That happened about 20 times, and I finally just threw in the towel and called it a day. I considered donating it to Goodwill, but then someone else might spend money on something that just doesn't work. Darn. Lire l'avis complet...

convenient and fully portable printer.

This is a very good printer that works well with people who travel often and are in need of a small, portable printer. The best part about this printer is the rechargeable battery, so it can be used with a laptop at almost any where, any time.
I wish the speed can be faster with a higher quality.

Great quality or very fast printing. Easy USB connection. Acceptable setup in Linux.

This is the smallest color printer I've worked with. Print quality is good, or fast, but as expected not both at the same time. It's important to note that while not at all a feature of the printer itself, Ubuntu doesn't work with the driver it selects (iP90) and needs to be manually changed to the BJC-8200 Foomatic driver instead.Lire l'avis complet...

Compatable with Windows10 and Mac OSX Yosemite

After a little experimenting, I was able to set the IP90V to work with both Windows10 and Mac OSX Yosemite despite the lack of documentation for this support. Go out to Canon IP90 Support and select Windows 8.1 driver to install to Windows10. For Mac OSX 10.6 thru at least 10.10 (Yosemite), select Mac OSX Snow Leopard v10.6.
Excellent printer (plain paper & photo) for mobile use.
Use BCI16 color cartridges (BCI15 works but gives a slightly different color cast).
