EOS Rebel T2i - Great camera (Features and Price)

I am a beginner but so far the Canon T2i has been very easy to use and produces great pictures without breaking the bank. Great deep editing and range of controls. I love having the viewfinder vs the display only like my other camera *(Olympus TG-5). The viewfinder allows for very quick setup of a picture and then I can switch to display to see the results of my particular settings for the shot. The last time I attempted to take pics was with an old Canon AE-1 in the 80s and I loved how similar the T2i was to my old AE-1.

Apology in advance - Again I am still a beginner so this review may be a 'yawn' for those that are in the know. For those who are beginners grabbing a used Canon T2i I would say is a great starting place to learn and grow... you can always spend a LOT more money if you want later if needed.

Video quality as good as a 6d or 5d mark ii? I think so.

Yeah, the image sensor is cropped = a slightly cropped picture, but I cropped my pants at the $600 I literally cropped off the purchase price. Plus, I have a Canon XS and it was seemless to learn this one. However, I hope you are good at focusing your camera manually in real-time in video mode- builds character. Yes, you may push the shutter half way down to auto-focus, but you need do that everytime you want to focus on something else. I'm still learning, but I'm having fun!Lire l'avis complet...

Best Picture 🏆

I purchased this pre-owned camera and I was thrilled with it right out of the box. The features are amazing and the picture quality is outstanding. I took a few hours to take the camera through it's paces and it past with flying colors. This somewhat older 18Mp gem performed just as good as some of the newer models and won't break the bank. Portrait, wildlife, weddings or whatever your thing is, this camera is up to the task. This is great for the novice or the professional and if you can find one for a reasonable price and in great shape, grab it!Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent Camera - Wonderul Quality - Takes Great Pics!

I decided to trade in my Canon Rebel Xti for this new Canon model. This is very similar to the Xti so it was very easy for me to pick up on using it. The jump to 18 megapixels is wonderful and makes for clear crisp photos. It also makes a flash less necessary and gives you more natural looking pictures. The video mode is nice too. It's so convenient - I could be taking a picture and all of a sudden I see a video moment - all I have to do is hit the button and switch over - easy peasy!
I was really excited about the "Live View" feature b/c the Rebel Xti did not have this. I find this to be the one downside to this camera. The camera takes like 3 or 4 times as long to focus in live view as it does in regular view. By the time it does all of this the moment could be gone. I tend to stay out of "live view".
Even with that flaw I still think this camera is very good. I would recommend it to anybody - whether it be someone with a photography hobby or a mom just trying to get some good pictures of her kids. It's not at all hard to use and takes fantastic pictures!

Great camera--easy to use!

Very happy with this camera--still learning how to use all the features, but quite happy with the image quality and ease of use.

I'm a big fan of Canon cameras, had the old AE-1 Program back in the days of film, and recommend this one to anyone looking to upgrade from the point-and-shoot camera, but doesn't want to break the bank.Lire l'avis complet...

Great prosumer DSLR for the price, especially if you have small hands.

I bought this camera because I wanted a DSLR and this body fit my hand the best. I don't need all the auto functions, but it has all the manual control I need. But I have to say, picture quality ain't great. I went out this weekend and EVERY shot was overexposed. Then I remembered a Canon p&s I had a few years back, that I had to set down a third stop. So it's a Canon thing? Apparently. Well, you can't talk about Canon bodies without talking about lenses and they're the best IMHO (This from a Nikon guy). Bottom line is I don't need the auto features, but, as I said, it fits my hand and I have some very cool lenses. Now about that overexposure thing ...Lire l'avis complet...

My new T2i Camera

I just have started using it as I had to buy the lens separately, Since I received the lens, I have take some pictures and was pleasantly pleased with the outcome. The colors are so bright. I LOVE THIS CAMERA and I haven't even started to take as many pictures as I plan to.
I am still learning all the great features if has to offer. I would recommend this camera to anyone looking for that special camera that does it all.

Great for novices and pros.

Finally bought after wanting for more than a year. The Canon Rebel T2i is great for beginners yearning to explore photography, as well as more established photographers. It has many settings the shooter can play with, choosing what works best for them. Also interesting is it records video, a feature I haven't quite gotten to yet. There is a slight learning curve but is fairly easy to get a hang of. The only problem I really had with the camera is the lens it comes with doesn't shoot very far, but it is easily fixable by purchasing another lens.

I am much more satisfied with the Canon line versus the Nikon brand, with after much research, finding that the intermediate Nikon cameras aren't able to use some of the lenses made for the professional brand. The Canon line can use basically any lens (an as far as I know, some older film lenses). I feel this makes the brand much more user friendly than Nikon.

Overall, very happy and satisfied with my purchase, and would choose it again.

Why I bought the Canon T2i - EOS 550D - EOS Kiss

This camera is called the Canon T2i in the US - EOS 550D in Europe - and the EOS Digital Kiss in China & Japan but it is the same camera. This camera is perfect for the 1st time DSLR buyers. The feautures are comparable to the semi-professional cameras such as the Canon 50D and 7D, and the kit lens (18-55mm) produces better quality images than the 50D/7D kit lens (28-124mm). This camera still produces good images at a high ISO3200. At higher ISO the quality deteriorates quickly. For a 1.6x cropped sensor (APS-C sensor) , it produces good 18MP images. The Auto Exposure Bracketing feature and Auto White Bracketing features are fun and easy to use. The controls/buttons are ergonomically perfect. They are not difficult to use/press and cannot be pressed easily by mistake. The camera is a little light for me as it promotes easy 'camera shake' on my light lens without IS. The battery lasts several hundred shots for me which is better than most cameras. All the controls and settings are visible in the view finder and do not get in the way of your view. You can also take pictures using the 'Live View mode' which is the 3inch LCD screen. Most DSLR cameras dont have this feature which i find quite odd since it is mostly used in point and shoot cameras. Another feature installed in this camera is the CreativeAuto mode which enables the user to control the focus background and the brightness of the subject/background. The continuous shooting is only 3.7 frames per second. Its still pretty fast however would be nicer if it was at least 6fps which is a necessity for sports photography. The AutoFocus has a 9 point CMOS sensor instead of 19 point sensor like the 50D and 7D. overall, this is a great entry DSLR, the best in its class for its features and for its price. This SLR camera is half the price of the 7D and the major differences is only the slower shutter spd of 1/4000 vs. 1/8000, the continuous shooting of 3.7fps vs. the 7D's 8.0fps, and the differences in the AF points. Its those 3 major differences that kept me from buying the 7D and saving the extra $900. Plus the built in flash shoot 1 meter (3.2ft) farther than the 7D's built in flash, and the kit lens produces higher image quality pictures than the kit lens for the 7D. One of the best reasons to buy this camera is for the 1080p HD Video with selectable frame rates 30/25/24 fps in 1080p and 50/60 fps in 720p. By far the best DSLR HD Video under $1000. This is why I now own it.Lire l'avis complet...

Reliable, cheap and efficient camera.

Great camera, solid hardware, with all the controls you need for video, specially if you upgrade the firmware, I owned this camera 3 times, still use it, it gave me great results, there is a lot of work done by people that use it for video in terms of expanding the features, since this it was one of the firsts and most popular model to come out with 1080p, things are stable, available, and cheap to find.Lire l'avis complet...
