Canon digital Rebel/300D

I was looking for a Canon digital SLR, as I've used their film cameras for years. This model is several years old, but still has more than twice the resolution of my Fuji point-n-shoot, which is a 3.0 MP camera. Also, I had some manual "T-mount" lenses, and hoped to adapt them to the Rebel. It worked!

The quality of the first pictures I took really blew me away! No more waiting for film processing, no more "film left in the camera" excuses.

All in all, even though this was Canon's first "pro-sumer" digital SLR, and was the first under-$1000 DSLR, it's now a bargain at under $300 with accessories.

Good camera however you can't focus from the screen.

Overall I could say it's a good camera. My problem is that you could watch the pictures on the screen AFTER you have taken them however you can not use the screen to focus BEFORE taking the picture. I thought I was going to be able to though. In my case, I got it second hand and it came with lots of extras. the 18-55mm lense can't reach that far but it works good. It's a good camera however I think there are lots of cheaper cameras that will give you more for the price.Lire l'avis complet...

Canon EOS Digital Rebel is a Hit!

The Canon EOS Digital Rebel 6.3 Megapixel Camera with Custom Lens Kit is AMAZING! I would recommend this camera to anyone who not only wants to upgrade from a pocket digital, but is willing to learn.<br>
Lots of "gizmos and gadgets" but the manual is comprehensive and easy to follow. The Canon website is chock full of useful and easy to follow information (I chose to register my camera even though I'm a second owner in case it got stolen I'd have some back-up).

The photo quality is lovely! My ONLY dissatisfaction was with the stock lense -and that is ONLY because I love to take outdoor photos and found myself quickly needing a telephoto/zoom lense. But there is nothing wrong with the stock lense and the original kit as sold takes lovely photographs. However, the camera is compatible with the Canon telephoto lense purchased separately as well as Cokin filters and the opportunities for creativity seem endless.

All features of the camera, so far, appear to be exactly as described in the manual and web site. Much flexibility between auto and manual settings. The ability to use the built-in flash plus an external flash increases its adaptability. In addition to the built-in self-timer function, there are two options of remotes available for purchase as well for hands-free operation of the camera. There is also a lense eyepiece adapter for purchase.

This is truly a functional and lovely piece of equipment for novice or pro!

great for the $

I am a free lance photographer and I have used everything from a Pentax DSLR to Nikons & Canons up to 18mp. This one is only 6.3 mp or so but definitely can produce quality photos. I can post edit to give the photos additinal flare but for the price it is definitely worth having in my collection. Service was fast & easy also.Lire l'avis complet...

Built for the Pro

A truly impressive camera for its age. A GREAT first, second, or third camera. Accessories are easy to get because it is an EOS Rebel. Add a 75-300mm lens, and try to put it down before you drain the battery.

Who REALLY needs a steady-cam feature. Learn to hold it still FIRST!
Hunt for your shot and squeeze the trigger.

My 1st "REAL" cam has been great I suggest it to any begginer.

This is my first "major" camera I guess you could say. Im happy with it. I have taken like 400 pics with it trying different settings on camera in different light and so on. I put average on the rating because like I said its my first real camera. I know you can spend a lot on a good one,but I would suggest this model to anyone that's interested in photography or just needing a good all around camera. Im having a great time with mine.Lire l'avis complet...

Top of Line camera for the money

haven't had a chance to use the camera much. Purchased the camera for our trip to Florida this winter. I did test it and it's features and is everything I expected it to be.
