Very decent lens. If you can't afford Canon "L" glass at all focus lengths, a couple older Canon len's of this quality should help you in a pinch!

Much Better Than Online Reviews Say It Is! Not Bad At All

I was very apprehensive about buying this lens after reading numerous online reviews that had said all but its a piece of junk. I decided to try it because the price was to good to pass up. My first test shots with the lens were fantastic and had me wondering did I get the lens I had been reading about. I do a lot of portrait photography so I chanced it on a shoot and found the images to be more than acceptable based on the reviews. Its not the sharpest glass you can get but its not the worst either. I love it and especially since I only paid $82 bucks for it. It definitely got a bum rap in the online reviews in my opinion. Its not a pro lens and why someone would expect pro results is beyond me. But it is a darn good lens that delivers great results. It doesn't feel like much, very light and very plastic, but it works. I shoot with it a lot, both general stuff and paying stuff. Its one of those lens that wouldn't ruin my day if something was to happen to it, because it has already earned my my money back and more. Some images tend to be a little soft from time to time but I think its more me than the lens. If you can get a deal on one .. I would take it.Lire l'avis complet...

The lens did not work with autofocusing when I received.
The lens was cold and had some humid.
After a day, autofocusing is working.

A decent general purpose lens.
