Great Camcorder and a great value for the money!

I purchased this camcorder to make videos with my grandkids. We take old songs and make mini movies out of them. (They really liked the Marty Robbins song "El Paso" because we did a western).

NOT an HD!!!!!!

I own a FX200 and love it but, like the FX300, it is NOT true HD! Though the video quality rivals most lower end HD video cameras and it will produce the 16.9 wide videos, it is not true HD. That is actually a good thing when it comes to rendering because the files are smaller.

One quick note, the FX200 is the same as the FX300 with the added bonus of a great external mirophone input. For whatever reason Canon dropped that in the newer FX300. Get the 200 if you can!Lire l'avis complet...

Small size but big results!

I had decided to video my grandchildren and friends while fishing. Internet research made the Canon FS 300 look just the right size, and price. Reviews seemed excellent and video made it look simple to use. Getting it USED on Ebay was a risk but the seller had an excellent history. So I got it for far less the the new cost and it works like new!! So far it has proved to be just what I had hoped for. By the end of summer I hope I will be just as happy. I already had a tripod that fits just right. Now I just set it at the bow of the boat , push the button and it records hours of exciting fishing that I can watch during the winter.Lire l'avis complet...

excellent camcorder

Easy to operate and easy to use. Sleek design. The closing of the LCD screen to pause the recording also has its adantages. The software that comes with the camcorder could be better because, it is a little complex and not easy to understand or perform anyway I downloaded different software and everything works fine. wouldn't charge the battery --

didn't work-- battery wouldn't charge, tried 2 chargers--2 batteries--gave it away

light weight and easy to use.
bought this for my daughter to take shots of the grand kids.
would recommend to anyone who is looking for a camcorder.
