Hear firsthand how lives of slaves were before and after the civil war.
Very interesting to hear first hand from the people who's lives were affected by slavery. So glad someone took the time to record all the stories and put them in a book.

Fantastic book
I bought this book years ago. I actually felt like I was there , when reading it. Great book, real feelings, truth. I thought I lost my copy, so I bought another one. I have a dear sweet lady that I call my Aunt Eva, she is about 98 years old. Her mind is sharp. Aunt Eva's grandmother was a slave and she has told me amazing stories about back then. With this book, you seem to walk in the foot steps of some of the people. I am white and born in 1946 , so I never had the education into the lives of the black people before me or when I was a kid. This book will open your eyes to the way it REALLY WAS, not just "hear say". Buy it, Read it, Keep it and share it . Best money you ever spentLire l'avis complet...
Bullwhip Days
A grim look at slavery through the eyes of those that were exploited, and how after the Civil War, these same people were left to the winds without skills or resources to prosper.
