This movie is a lot of fun! It is about not judging on first impressions, and it does it with flair and style. The music and dancing are creative, colorful, and expressive. I have shown some of the dancing and singing to my 6th grade students, and they loved it! The market dance scene does have a moment of objectionable content, and the beach song and dance are very sexual (that, and the one or two forced acting scenes took it down from a 5/5 rating). Other than that, it is as good as Grease.
My wife and I love this movie, and it is very well done. The plot twists and turns and keeps you guessing throughout the movie. The dialogue is truly true to form; if you have ever spent time overseas and had miscommunications cause hard feelings, you will connect with this movie. If you have ever seen someone talking one way but behaving another and so judged them for it, yet finally realizing that you are doing the same wrong principal, you will connect with this.
The scenery is pretty, the actors/actresses are handsome/beautiful, and there are plenty of jokes throughout. The jokes are funny, the characters are full of character, and the singing and dancing are really catchy. For a Bollywood/Hollywood mixture, it is a home-run! It ends well and with a good moral. Excellent Bollywood Interpretation of Pride and Prejudice

This movie is the Bollywood cherry on top for Jane Austen fans! You must be in the mood for silly fun and somewhat cheesy songs though. It is wonderfully well done as it brings you the story we all love with music that makes you want to really get up and dance along.

Fun take on a classic story.

Must-see title for Bollywood fans...

I believe this is the first time such a film has been made, and it exceeds all my hopes and dreams of what a film of this caliber should be like. It's a glorious meshing of East (India) and West (America) done rather faithfully to the story of Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice. It's modernalized but throughly enjoyable. Two Thumbs Up - Bride & Prejudice

I absolutely loved this movie. It's a spin off of Jane Austin's "Pride and Prejudice." It is full of culture, singing, dancing, it's also VERY funny; something the whole family will love. The actors play their roles amazingly well, and there are some unexpected changes made to fit the characters and the story. Why watch...Aishwarya Rai of course!!

If you don't know who Aishwarya Rai is...well you're missing out.She is a superb actress.Mainly in Hindi,Bollywood films...but she has made a few Hollywood ones as well.This movie being one.She is stunning to look at yes,but more than that she has acting chops like no one's business.When she cries you feel her tears in your soul.Only one other actress has done that for me,Julia Roberts,and I'd say they both are very talented ladies.I highly advice making yourself known with her films.Some titles include Devdas,Umrao Jaan,Kuch Na Kaho,Provoked(us film).She will amaze you with what she can do.Act,dance,sing.An all around skilled professional.Her heart comes through in any film she's in.And that's what shines the most.She is not plastic,she works hard,she cares about issues,she doesn't run her mouth about anything,including other people,her manners top most all of humanity.She is a real person and doesn't try to be anything but.Watch and you won't be able to take your eyes off her.
This film was cute,and touched on Jane Austen...and spun it just so...leaving a happy pleasant viewing experience.But check out some of the Hindi titles,they are wonderful.And what's so nice about Hindi films that I enjoy...the less(sorta lol) is more approach...there are not any real nude scenes,no gawdy sex romps...just hints and touches,looks.And that to me shows far more sensuality then nudeness.Passion displayed in colors and tunes...well that hits the right notes to me.So I hope my review has helped explain why these movies are fantastic.Lire l'avis complet...

AWESOME FUN MOVIE!

I'm a huge fan of Jane Austin, so this fun light hearted adaptation of her novel "Pride and Prejudice" is truly a breath of fresh air.. I love the leading actors Aishwarya and Martin in addition to being beautiful people, they're also engaging and fun to watch....the whole cast is truly amazing. best adaptation so far

Bride & Prejudice is so far the best adaptation I have encountered to the beloved Austin novel (yes, including the famous BBC series, if you want my opinion). The movie succeeds in capturing the essence of the leading characters, without the need to fixed them in old costumes and rural aristocracy sceneries. And in the same bargain you get excellent dancing and singing.
In short - great feel-good movie, that allows even those who dislike Austin's literature to enjoy the romantics.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent story based on Jane Austen's Price & Prejudice, beautifully given life through the culture of India. Enjoyed it very very much.
