Best show on TV, but not the best season.

After Season 1 set up the story and characters, this season is about the characters rising, and not as much story elements are included. Walt and Jesse grow as partners and friends, having to rely on each other to escape from unpredictable situations. Hank rises in the DEA, which leads to possibly exposing Walt's criminal activities. Some new characters are introduced, like Saul, one of my all-time favorite characters, a CRIMINAL lawyer. The second season picks up exactly where Season 1 left off.

With this season, you seem to know that the characters are always going to be fine, where as in season 1, you knew as much as they did: nothing. You were starting off, as were they, in the dangerous drug business. Tough moral decisions, great characters, those are the things that made Breaking Bad- Season 1 incredible, and it hooked me in faster than any other show has. With Season 2, however, I feel that the moral choice was slowly fading away. It's still there, but not nearly as much. They're in the business, and there's no going back. It's fun to see what they do, exciting to see the scenarios they get stuck in, but there's no uncertainty that they'll survive. In season 1, we were on the roller-coaster with Walt and Jesse, but now it seems more like we're watching the roller-coaster from inside the amusement park.

This season sets up the characters, as season 1 set up the story. Season 3 is a blend of both, and if you like this show at all, you'll love season 3. Don't get me wrong, this season is better than any new USA network show out there (except maybe the early seasons of House), but Season 1 might be the best season of any show ever, with Season 3 of Mad Men as its only competition.

Overall, buy this. You'll notice that something is lacking, but you won't be able to put your finger on it, but you'll still love it. Best show on TV, but not the best season of it.

Great season 2!

One of my new favorites & I couldn't wait for this season. I buy them as they come out. I thought at first that it was supposed to be a comedy then discovered it was a comedic drama. I was hooked by then. I think it has great acting & it's one of those stories where you know you should dislike the guys, but you just can't help but root for them. Maybe because there are legitimate reasons for what the guy is doing. I would never think there's a good reason for manufacturing drugs so I almost feel guilty liking the guys. I think it's worth buying if you like to see something that has a different plot & is unpredictable. I really like this series & it stays as strong & interesting as season 1.Lire l'avis complet...

The last good season of this series.

The 2nd season of breaking bad is the end of the interesting story. After this, season 3 turns into a drag fest with the story limping along while 4 characters have these long, drawn out conversations about their feelings. Season 2 wraps up the story of the guy who gets cancer and tries to leave money behind for his family. After this, the subsequent seasons are not even engaging.

This season shows the Hank character as a completely self absorbed jerk who sees the rest of humanity as just accessories for his own life and career. Hank's wife is insufferable now and gets worse in later seasons. Walter's wife is also a self absorbed ditz and his partner Jesse is a much more meaningful character. Walt's son is a nothing character played by someone who simply can't act.

The casting is good, there are good actors who play their roles well, and the writing is still good in this season. That will change starting with the next season. A real drawback to buying this on dvd is that the Sony dvd quality is very bad. The sound level is much too low and there are no English subtitles. The auto subtitles do not translate the Spanish dialog into English. Sony did well by leaving out any recap of the previous episodes as an opening, but they included three screens of copyright warnings, which is excessive.Lire l'avis complet...

Great Show, Great Acting, Great Story

I think this show is great, as you can see from the title. I think its very well written. Stephen King said it was the best written drama on TV. Its definitely worth a look at least once. The characters and story really pull you in and the show doesn't get boring for one bit. I borrowed the first two seasons off a friend and bought them off ebay the day I finished season 2.

This show ranks right up there with my other favorites: Sapranos, The Wire, Sons of Anarchy and Mad men.

A great purchase - one of the best I've ever received from Ebay.

I was a newcomer to this series and was given the first season as a gift. I watched the entire first season, one episode after the other, without any breaks. I was hooked. I immediately ordered the complete second season of Breaking Bad and was not disappointed. It seamlessly continues on from where season one left off. The characters become more in-depth and the storyline gets even better. I truly believe that this is a landmark series. The best I've ever seen. Great Set of a Great Show

I'm not sure what I can add to the rave reviews this show has gotten. The second season is just as good as the first. The DVD set has plenty of special features that anyone who wants to go "behind the scenes" will appreciate. Bryan Cranston contributes to voice-over commentary along with creator Vince Gilligan and others. Sometimes they joke over a scene that one might like to know a little more about, but that's just nit-picking.Lire l'avis complet...
