Considering it's a fixed focal length, fixed aperature lens, it's excellent

So far, no complaints at all.

The reason I bought this lens is because I and my 4 kids all have Cannon cameras. Between us we have quite an assortment of lenses we can share including 2 variable length telephoto lenses, the longest of which goes up to 300mm. You would probably not want to have this lens serve as your only telephoto option.

The lens itself is a T-mount and comes with the proper screw on adapter according to what you order. The lens connected up to my Canon perfectly.

Naturally, the necessity of focusing manually is a bit different if you have rarely used a manual focus camera but it's not that difficult to adapt.

What will be necessary is a tripod or other steadying device. As with any long focal length lens, it is very diffficult to keep the camera still enough to take non-blurred pics. Also, without a tripod, blurring is further amplified by the fact this is an F 8.0 fixed aperature lens and unless you are in really bright conditions, the camera will adjust to the light conditions by slowing the shutter speed. Keep in mind this has nothing to do with the quality of the lens, only the result of working with an extremely long focal length.

Keeping all of the above in perspective the lens is very nice. It's compact, light, sturdy and has a very smooth feel when focusing. I have yet to find a negative thing to say about it and, when you consider that you get 500mm of telephoto capability for about $100, I don't see how you could have any complaints on this lens.Lire l'avis complet...

500mm/1000mm F/8.0 Telephoto Mirror Lens

This lens really surprised me with it very compact size. For the little bit that I have used the lens it has given me sharp and very nice photos. I actually bought it to Piggy back on my Meade 2120 10 inch telescope for deep space photography. Which I have yet to do any with this new lens. But from the photos I have taken of the mountains about 30 miles from my house it gives a very clear and sharp image of the mountain side and the same town up there. I am extremely happy that I did buy this lens now I have it so I can Piggy back it on my 2120 and ETX-125 Telescopes which have clock drive for tracking.Lire l'avis complet...

Lighweight with great features

Could not wait until I rec'd it. Went out the next day and used it. It was everything I thought it would be. Price was great.

Great addition to your photo device
