I've wanted a a Fender Deluxe Reverbe amp for years but never got one because, being 22 watts, they're just too loud for my living room when cranked hard enough for good overdriven tone. I'd always wished Fender would come out with a ten watt version of the Deluxe Reverbe, but fat chance right? Enter this EFX pedal from Boss. This is a pretty neat pedal if you actually need it. It's supposed to make your amp sound like a Fender Deluxe Reverbe Reissue,and IT DOES too. I play mine through either a Fender Pro Jr, or a Kustom Tube-12 and really like it. However there are some downsides. Your amp has to already sound good when played clean, i.e. the amp should not add color or alter (should be relatively hi-fi) the incoming tone; a good 8 or 10 inch speaker really helps here. Like most other things there is a learning curve, so it might take awhile to find out where all the goodies are; the sweet spots are mostly in the mid positions, though. Also, The Fender Reissue amp had some problems of its own: clicky reverb when cranked and the vibrato is a bit thumpy when it's turned up. The pedal replicates these faults. The Accutronincs tube reverb in my Peavy Classic 50 does the same thing. Also the tone controls are passive, so... therefore not the greatest, but then again, also with the Fender Reissue. In other words this pedal actually sounds like the original - warts and all. BOSS'es COSM really shines here and they didn't try to use the algorithm to "fix" anything. A shrewd decision IMHO but not likely to make everyone happy. Of course you can't plug your mike into the normal channel and your ax into the EFX channel because the FDR-1 is only one channel. The pedal switch works like this: off-bypass/on overdrive + whatever reverb and/or vibrato you have dialed in on the box. Does it do what it's supposed to? - yes but nothing more. Does it make your cheap crappy sounding amp sound good? No way, no pedal does that. Before you buy this pedal... THINK, "do I really need this?" I have a dream.....

Martin Luther King had "a dream". So do I and that is owning a 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp and one day when I have a couple thousand dollars laying around my dream will become a reality. In the meantime I was on ebay looking for a decent reverb pedal for around a 100$ and thats when I stumbled upon the Boss FDR-1. The price was right and I figured I'll humor the idea and worse case scenario i'll have to sell it myself on ebay and get something else. When the pedal arrived and I plugged it in I have got to admit I was pleasantly surprised. The pedal actually sounded great. It was no 65 Deluxe but it made the amp I was playing thru sound pretty close to the real thing. I really like the gain you can get off the pedal along with the reverb it made my tone sound huge and it even had a pretty legit vibrato, it just took me a minute to figure out how to use it. I will deifinelty be keeping this stomp box in my arsenal and would recommend it to anyone looking for that old fender sound but can't afford to go out and drop the money to buy an old fender amp.Lire l'avis complet...

FDR-1 Reverb Ehhhh~~

This pedal has a lot of bang for your buck. They are going right now for a very reasonable price vs what they cost brand new (149 dollars in some stores). I bought this for a low price of 75 dollars. The pedal itself is a tank. All boss pedals are made to last. I've never broken one in my 6 years of stomping on them. The pedals features are unique. It's supposed to emulate a Fender Deluxe Reverb and does a pretty good job of it. The overdrive is tame and the reverb is bright. You can hear decay,but its great for a digital pedal. If you want the real sound go buy a spring reverb unit for 500 dollars. I kept this on my pedal board for a while and only removed it because of an annoying feature. The gain/level controls are very stiff. You can't really get a non-over-driven sound out of this pedal. It stays in that dull gray area for tone. I'd actually recommend the other Boss pedal that emulates an earlier Fender model. The tremolo on this pedal is worthless. You can't use it for live applications. You'd shut yourself down 5 minutes trying to get it right, but that's not what this pedal is really for. That's just an extra thrown in there by boss to throwback to the actual amp. Boss FDR-1 '65 Deluxe Reverb in a Pedal!?!?

I bought this pedal to keep from buying a bigger amp. I recently got a used Pro Junior which I love for its single volume/tone setup. When running the pedal, you can push the 15 watts in the amp to its max and use the pedal and the guitar to control the amount of breakup/drive you get. The trem and reverb are the icing on the cake. Great blues tones and a funky Creedence kind of vibe. I would buy again in a minute. It's sturdy and looks to be very durable. I have not been a big pedal fan in the past (35 years a player) but this one is changing my tune (literally).Lire l'avis complet...

Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Pedal

Ordering, shipping and delivery was prompt. Really cool pedal that is extremely versatile. Would recommend highly to anyone using various back lines as this pedal offer's reverb, vibrato, bass, treble, volume & gain controls all in one device. Dissapointing Reverb

This pedal has a lot packed into it...

1. Blackface Tone and Gain... Excellent
2. Vibrato... Excellent
3. Reverb.... if used lightly it is fine but if you push the reverb too much it sounds like someone is pulling on the springs of a real reverb tank and letting them pop
Most annoying sound and really a disappointment that they emulated that to be too sensitive

I wish there were an upgrade to fix the issue because then it would be an Excellent pedalLire l'avis complet...

Does 4 things well. Tone, Tremolo, Reverb, Overdrive, of an old Fender Amp.

Set your amp as clean and clear as you can, adding no flavor. Step on pedal. Welcome to the past, my friend.
What's great about it is, of the four things this does, they're all based off of the old Fender amp directly, not five generations removed and improved upon until the original idea is lost and forgotten.
It's mild breakup is more real sounding than my multi effects pedal's six or eight choices.
Tremolo, which isn't even attempted on that pedal, has volume and speed.
Reverb has volume only but sounds like a real spring tank. Again, way better than my other pedal.

This is a great pedal to add to your effects board.

This is a great pedal which simulates the '65 Fender Deluxe Reverb Amp. It adds clean tone punch to my amps, has level and gain knobs, also treble and bass. The reverb and tremolo effect is very useful. Overall, I'm impressed with what I can do with this pedal. I run it through two amps (a Fender Frontman 25R, and a Bugera Vintage 5), which I use at home. Not for the faint of heart guitar player..This is what Vintage sounds like!

This is one great pedal. I have a Fender Hot Rod Deville amp that I usually play clean or with a TubeScreamer and/or OCD and a Fender Frontman 100 W amp that I use for my POD XT Live board. I wanted to turn the Frontman into a more vintage amp for playing the SRV and Kenny Wayne Shepherd stuff. This pedal is an INCREDIBLE copy of that famous amp. It sounds like they just chopped off the speakers and packaged it up in a little stomp box. It sound really great slightly overdriven with a little roll up on the gain or beautifully crisp and clean with lower gain levels. But don't be misled..this pedal will crank out the distortion. They left out no detail...even has the built in Vibrato and that classic Fender Spring Reverb. Can't believe I waited so long to get this pedal.Lire l'avis complet...

Great little stomp box.

I was looking to have an alternative to my full valve amp tired of hauling it from gig to gig. This works fine most of the time. It´s good clean and, if you want that little overdrive of a tube amp, it gets it too. Add the serviceable tremolo and you got a nice instant sound. The reverb is nasty.
