Borderlands...whats not to like?!? When is the last time you played an awesome, fun, and totally entertaining free roam (sandbox) game, THAT WAS CO-OP?!? (Oh, did I mention there's also a leveling up system in this game? That's right it's an action/first-person shooter/RPG that's COOPERATIVE!!!) In Borderlands you basically play as a mercenary-for-hire that travels around the land searching for people in need of assistance. When you find someone in need of help, they will give you a "mission" to accomplish somewhere in the game. Once you have completed the task, you can return to the person who gave you the quest and claim your "reward" for doing so. There are main story missions that progress you through the "story" of the game, as well as plenty of side missions to help you level-up your character and explore the land more. As I said before this is an open-world game, so you can roam about and just have fun exploring the landscape and searching for loot/treasure, or you can focus on completing the missions that everybody has for you. You can go where you want, do what you want, and do it whatever way you want to. It's your choice how you play the game, and with an almost endless assortment of weapons to choose from throughout the game, and a good variety of missions to play through, combined with the absolutely AWESOME ability to play this game the whole way through with your friends online this game will no doubt provide any gamer who likes cooperative based, freeroam, action/first-person shooter games (with some RPG elements) countless hours of enjoyment! Now that's just the regular version of the game. Just when you didn't think the game could get any better...when you buy the Game of the Year edition of Borderlands, you will recieve 4 add-on content packs that will give you even more main and side missions to complete, more weapons, new enemies, raise the maximum level for players, and new areas to explore. All around it will give you even more things to do and again, you play them how you want, and with who you want. My favorite 1st person shooter on PS3. A classic for your collection.

My favorite game for 2 yrs running now. I play and rent a lot, but find myself always coming back to this game. Loads of fun to play with a friend on the big screen, or hooking up over the internet with up to 3 additional players and taking on the game at 4x the difficulty, but wth 4x the reward in rare weapons and upgrades!

This is a first person shooter, mixed with an element of RPG (weapon and upgrade control through found loot or purchases). It uses cell shading graphics, so no, it doesn't compete graphically with games like BF3 and COD:MW3. But response wise (even playing 4 players over internet) it is awesome. Response is always fluid, immediate, and accurate. The stories (both main and add on) are very clever and involved. There are extra optional bonus challenges (for XP boost) and if you pay attention, there are dozens of funny references to movies and other games included in the weapon descriptions and on the scenery/walls/backgrounds.Lire l'avis complet...

Fun as hell

I wish I had heard about this game sooner, it was funny, action packed, and I found myself unable to stop playing until I had completed every single mission!

Great game. Not kid friendly (language/violence).

The game is great... but don't be fooled by the comic book-ish appearance. The fact that it is violent won't surprise anyone. It is a post-apocalyptic shooter. That said... any parent thinking it might be another Halo or Resistence is very wrong. The humor, sarcasm and insults in this game are brilliant... however they are also vulger and completely inappropriate for even a 14 year old. Older teenagers and adults will love it... but keep it away from the young ones please.Lire l'avis complet...

This is one of the best RPG games I have every played, but if you are interested in FPS games this is right up your alley too. This game has everything for days of fun. ok i was looking for a FPS and always knew borderlands was out there but never realized how great of a game this was n is. this game i highly recommend to all those FPS/RPG lovers. theres an endless line up of guns literally over millions with many different attributes. also with the level up skill tree system u can obtain different atks n skills which will help u along ur way across the world of borderlands... this game is great!Lire l'avis complet...

Horrible Buy

I hate it a person buys a game expecting one thing and getting another. First the game is called Borderlands (Game of the Year Edition) because it has all the expansions included in it but this copy didn't the one time voucher was used something that should have been put in the comments. Since that was used the game is now only Borderlands the original game and not Borderlands (Game of the Year Edition). I payed $26.49 when it was only worth 14.97. If I were to of known that fact I would've of bought it.

Plain and simple this game was sold under false advertizement.
