The BB Tour 9630 offers world-roaming capabilities as well as Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The smartphone offers a great design that combines a sharp display and an easy to use keyboard, in a fairly small size. It lacks Wi-Fi. Great value for the money.
This phone is absolutely amazing. The phone is very easy to operate while still up to date on technology. The battery life on this phone is beyond amazing. I used my phone as one would normally (texting and calling throughout the day) and the battery life didn't diminish like it does with new phones. I charged my phone once and after 3 days, it was still at 80%. Absolutely amazing. The phone is usually marketed as a business-type phone and it's easy to understand why. Reading and writing emails is easily accessible. Call quality is extremely clear and texting on the phone is made easy by the full keyboard. I love this phone more than any other phone I've ever had. Works great, but the GPS feature is NOT there even though that is what this phone is known for. Not sure why, but that is why the rating is not perfect. I like these phones because they are so durable. This is a great Blackberry device for the Verizon network. Keyboard is easy to use, after you've gotten used to it - especially if you were a touch screen user. Blackberry App world could be better and easier to use but it still offers some nice applications. The Bold 9630 would have to be one of the more higher end Blackberry devices you can get. Nice speeds and little to none freeze ups. If you're looking for a business email phone this would be a very good choice. Awsine phone for under $140.00 and ideal for my budget service
I was using an old blackberry and decided to stay. Contenders were Iphone, 32G, and Droit phone. They were too expensive compared to this 9630 at $130.00 unblocked. I stayed with Tmobile and my sim card worked fine. I had to call a few too many times to Tmobile who finally got my Tour 9630 to work smoothly with their system. That was quite a challenge but the phone well worthed. Then I heard that the rolling ball, which I love, does not work after a while and that is the reason I changed by old blackberry for this one, so I had to debate if I should keep it or return it. I decided to keep it since the phone is awesome. Slow on the internet but effective on making calls, texting, calendar, and contacts retreival and my emails comes in clear and clean. The BB Tour does NOT disappoint!!! Rock solid performance you can trust!!
I've used BlackBerrys from the Pearl to the Bold 9650 and none of them compare to the Tour! This phone is just rock solid in performance! The phone, internet, email, calendar, all work great. I have no lag time or freezing like I have had with other BB's. I've also tried the Windows phone and Androids and can't find a phone that works as solid and dependable as this one. Even the new BB Bold 9650 was a big disappointment to me. I downgraded back to the Tour well before a month was up. I didn't care for the trackpad, OS 6, having to open the tray to bring up all the icons, nor the attempt at various home screens. The Bold was constantly dropping calls where my Tour has dropped none! The Tour just seems to work flawlessly and do all the functions that I need for my small business. I do wish the Tour had wifi but it is not a deal breaker to me. If you are wondering which BlackBerry to purchase, I would highly recommend giving the Tour a try. Good and compatible with my country, battery last long with very clear receptions, the speaker produces soft clear sounds compared to my previous phone. The design is classic in terms of weight, size, width, thickness. High resolution pictures taken with details showing and better video recording with long battery life. Charging quick and last long especially when talking maybe on standby for 36hours before re-charging could be required. Browsing is fast, smooth and safe a lot of bits that could have been consumed if not fast enough. The Blackberry has plenty of features for the person who is using it for business or personal use. A large phone list with full details both work and home and a picture profile anniversary, birthday and notes. I use all the features available because I am a field service technician, and store all my clients details emails and websites. And the GPS program to guide me to locations I have never been to before to avoid getting lost. The alerts help to never miss a call, voice mail or email message from a customer or from my own company. I have used Blackberry cell phones for 2 years and cant imagine doing my daily work without it. Blackberry also provides a free desktop download to your PC to backup all your phone list notes pictures and saved messages.
