very very good

The good: The RIM BlackBerry Tour 9630 offers world-roaming capabilities as well as Bluetooth, GPS, and a 3.2-megapixel camera. The smartphone offers a great design that combines a sharp display and an easy-to-use QWERTY keyboard in a fairly compact size.

The bad: The smartphone lacks Wi-Fi. The Web browser falls short of the competition, and there's a bit of shutter lag on the camera. You can't save applications to a media card.

The bottom line: With a winning design and fast performance, the RIM BlackBerry Tour 9630 is one of Verizon Wireless' top smartphones for both business users and messaging fanatics.

good stuff

The sprint blackberry tour. A very efficient phone to say the least. To say the least, that is what led me to buy this phone. After all the rift raft and hoo ha about what such and such phones can do, I found my self at quite a stand still. I came to realization that it's not just about what a phone can do, but what a phone does best and how long it can keep doing what it does best. The blackberry phone is a solid and consistent phone that I have found to be far more reliable than any other device I have laid my hands on. From email processing to the simple bordered design of the phone, I have not found a single flaw in the system. I am satisfied and confident about the abilities and reliability of this phone, and i trust that blackberry will keep doing what it does best,...implementing not only good, but quality products.Lire l'avis complet...

A must have!

I'm one of those people who is a critic about every phone I own. So far since my tenure at Sprint (6 months) I have had the HTC Hero, Samsung Moment, and now the 9630. By far, this BlackBerry is the best phone I have ever used. Physically the phone feels legitimate and it looks very astonishing and beautiful with the chrome strips between the rows and around the edge. Size-wise the 9630 is a little thick but its overall size doesn't make it feel like your carrying a brick in your pocket. The keyboard is beautiful and the slightly raised keys make getting used to the keyboad super easy. The BlackBerry OS is just amazing, its ablility to multitask is amazing. Finally an OS and a phone that doesn't crash, hang, or just lag! My previous two phones were powered by Android and although the Android app market is great the OS is medicore at best, crashes, hangs, and lags make it un-usable at times. BlackBerry has its usual amazing email capabilities and messaging is great. Battrey life is great, you just need to remember to close out your apps to make it last the 12+ hour days. I used it on a full charge from 8am-11pm, no mid-day recharges. I am a heavy texter, and data user so I was usuing it all day. The only things to gripe about are the lack of Wifi which I can live without but some people do need it and the App market which will evolove soon. All in all a great phone, no complaints from me! 5 out of 5!!Lire l'avis complet...

THIS is what a phone should be!

Ok, so needless to say, this phone is the "latest and greatest" release by Blackberry since the 'Storm' and Verizon since the 'Voyager'.

THIS BLOWS THEM ALL AWAY!

In terms of cost, it's just under $200 with a contract and almost $500 without, but even at that cost you get your money's worth. Similar in design to the Curve by Blackberry, the major flaw of a small keyboard was addressed and resolved. It's amazing how just a slight adjustment in key size allows for MUCH easier text messaging.

As for connectivity, this puppy flies! The 3G lives up to it's name. The non-touch screen is extremely clear and visible in broad daylight. This comes in two models, one with, and one without a camera. They list for the same price, so be sure to get the one with the camera. It's a full 3.2 megapixel which is...well....AMAZING! Battery life is decent, and I recommend getting a hard case for it.

My complaints are these:
-First, this does NOT come with Car charger....what were they thinking? Wait....I know...buy the $30 charger from Verizon...NOT! Can be purchased on ebay for like $5.

-My second is that it REQUIRES a Data play which is $30 for personal and $45 for business use. I realize all Blackberrys have this mandatory fee, however for those who are looking to hold off on frills and just get the phone with no frills, this is not possible.

-Lastly, my gripe against Verizon. I couldn't go without making the point that Verizon made this "latest and greatest" phone available for preorder for NEW customers before allowing customers such as I, who've been loyal to Verizon for nearly 10 years. Maybe I'm just used to professional companies such as Apple, Sony, and LG taking care of 'their own'.

SO! Buy this phone. You won't regret it! Just don't let Verizon take you for a ride with all their overpriced accessories.

Good product with minimum price

It is actually an upgrade to the 8830 (World Addition) even though it looks a lot like the Bold, it is still considered to be an upgrade of the 8830 because it has international calling. It is the size of the Curve, the design of the Bold and some features from the 8830. It has the same software as the Bold because that is the new format for the next Blackberrys to come. The Tour is similar to the Curve 8900. The Curve 8900 is for T-mobile and AT&T, while the Tour is for Sprint and Verizon. The Tour is an awesome Blackberry Smartphone and is a 3G phone which is one of the advantages it has over the Curve 8900. Although the Curve has WI-FI they are both solid devices with minor differences!Lire l'avis complet...

Overall, a Very Good Smartphone.

This isn't my first BlackBerry. But, the first one that I liked to a great extent.

Few negatives in this handset: (1) No WiFi (2) Speaker's Sound Quality could have been better (3) No Maps Data for India, had to install Google Maps.

The World Phone capability is a boon and a must for all BlackBerry smart phones. Awesome screen clarity! Now with Official OS v5. Sprint logo looks good. Camera is also very good. Overall, a nice package.

BlackBerry Tour 9630

I just recently purchased my Blackberry Tour 9630 on eBay. The phone is great; I have not activated it yet, but so far from what I can tell it will be a great phone. Like all new technology you must learn all the features. For this phone, figuring things out was quite easy. The key board is easy to use, but the roller ball takes a little practice. There is nothing hard about this phone at all though. It has a great size, and is fun to use. It is a “smart phone” and does so much on its own I am amazed at what it can do. I cannot give a full review because I have not fully used it, or had it for long, but I still would recommend this phone from what I have done, and read from other people.Lire l'avis complet...

The great 9630 Tour

I just bought this phone and upgraded it from my current 8330 Curve. This Phone is sleek, modern and works great for a typical businessman who needs all his needs at his fingertip, the email and full easy to use keyboard is by far the best part about this phone, the trackball is not a problem at all although i would rather a trackpad, but i am fine with this model 9630 Tour. The down side of this phone is that its good for internet but no way near as good as the iphone, it suffers the usual blackberry 'slowness' especially when starting up, that takes ages. All in all, the phone is a fast 3G handset which is small, relatively light and good looking, has an awesome interface which is cool and simple to use, battery is decent and it's also a solid phone and won't fall to pieces if it drops on the floor. This phone is highly recommended and has very few errors, in fact to few to mention!Lire l'avis complet...

blackberry tour 9630

excellent phone for those of you who used the e-mail feature a lot.
whats the difference between a touch screen and the tour you asked?
well- the tour lets you know when you have e-mails available and gives them to you, versus a touch screen you have to find the e-mail option and go into it and click and finally there it is.
second is the blackberry messenger-----everyone know aim-AOL messenger, well blackberry has their own, it just makes texting that much easier,
a little difficult to get used to it at first if you never owned one, but once you do you wont regret it.
and internet is great too.
camera is great and video too.

great product

this is an excellent phone in perfect working condition. Voice quality is significantly improved over the other BlackBerry devices I’ve used or tested, and calls are clear and sharp, with minimal background noise. Of course, this is to be expected from Sprint’s network, and during the testing period, I experienced no dropped calls. They’ve even added a “lock” button on the top of the phone. This is something that I always look for, and usually end up reprogramming one of the other buttons on the phone (typically the camera) to do this very function. Good idea, RIM!Lire l'avis complet...
