Wonderful phone. I plan on keeping it around for a very long time.

When I was deciding on a phone, I decided that I didn't really need all the fancy Android features and whatnot, and I wanted to be able to feel my buttons as I text. This phone fit pretty much most of what I needed. It was small and portable, had a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, and it was actually a smart phone to boot. Although I don't use many of the smart phone features, I do like having the touch screen there, rather than using the optical track pad to scroll through things.

The only thing that bugs me, like with almost every person/company that has reviewed this phone, is the lock/unlock button on the top left corner. Its easily tapped while in your pocket, allowing the touch screen to make random things happen. However this problem is solved easily with many of the plain hard cases people sell online.

There were a few things that drew me to this phone. The battery life (which BlackBerry is known for), the keyboard, and the sleek and small style. The sliding function feels smooth and satisfying every time you open and close it. Also having the LED light to notify you of texts/missed calls/etc. really helps, rather than having to check the screen itself.

This isn't exactly the best smartphone on the market, and it's not a huge seller, but it is in my opinion one of the most stylish BlackBerry phones out there. My First Month With the 9810 Torch by Blackberry

I replaced a 8220 Blackberry Pearl flip phone which I really liked with the 9810 Torch slider. I was really hesitant about getting a slider touch screen because of possible pocket dials and noises coming from my pocket from the various buttons being hit by other objects in my pocket. I have had both problems. They can be easily corrected either by wearing a holster or by exercising more care sliding into my pocket with greater care, I am enjoying the full qwerty keyboard over the flip's 20 key keyboard, but I miss being able to text with one hand as I found laying the 9810 on a desk or table. I have been having an issue on longer text messages with the phone switching off the text in the middle of my typing. Because I found a phone with much use for less money, I'm expecting some flaws and I think updating the phone may take care of it. I am still getting used to its features but at this point I am pleased with its function. I cannot speak to its function on browsing the web as I never have been much of a browsing kind of user basically I need a telephone.Lire l'avis complet...

You going to love it if you like BB. If not, wait for OS 10 devices.

I've owned Bold 9000 before and decided to upgrade my BB. OS 7.1 internet browser is light years ahead compared with older OS 5 incarnation. Browsing is fast, pages are accurate. Torch has GPS, compas, fast processor, etc, all you need from BB device. Screen is very good, and virtual keyboard requres accomodation period. Physical keyboard is neat, but not so good as on Bold 9000 - it's somewhere between Curve and Bold style, but closer to Bold. OS 7.1 is quite intuitive, but it's still a keyboard based OS adopted to touch screen - some operations could be a bit shorter, nothing serious to experienced BB users.
Battery life is, well - not so good. With WIFI on, I can achieve about one full day (24 h) between charging. The good thing is that restarting (battery pull) doesn't drain battery as it does with Bold 9000 (OS 5). All in all, battery is quite underpowered for device.
Build quality seems good, but that will be seen in future as this is a slider. Once again, fake chrome edges tends to peel very easily, which is Bold 9000 flaw too - consider buying one of shell cass.
Value for money? I've bought mine on auction relatively cheap. It's worth it if you like BB and are BB user right now. If we look in the future, maybe it's better to wait for BB OS 10 devices - OS 7.1 device prices will fall and OS 10 is very promising.Lire l'avis complet...

Great phone with 1 limitation

This little Blackberry is a very good phone, easy to handle, works well, has many good features that make it useful in all sorts of situations. It is used and looks it, which is not a bother for me. The slide works well and has no slop in it at all. The keyboard is like new! The only thing that makes it less than 5 stars is a function of Blackberry and not the seller. This phone, like most Blackberrys, cannot send or receive mutli-media messages (MMS) unless you pay to have the Blackberry Internet Service. Unlike a regular phone, merely having a data connection does not get MMS. This Upgrade of the first BlackBerry Torch puts any old blackberry device in a very, Very distant past! This is the next generation of BlackBerry, this is the Torch 2!

Featuring the new BlackBerry Device Software 7.0 this phone shows excellent graphics, icons are re-designed and well colored. Although all the system keeps same navigation style and menu as software 6.0.
This new Software also includes voice search engine in addition to the global search feature introduced in software 6.0.

Device improvements over the past model 9800 includes a HD video recorder camera with 5MPx and Flash. The new 1.2Ghz processor doubles the 624Mhz packed on the 9800 so you'll experience fast performance in apps, and in the whole system. I have loaded a GameBoy emulator and it runs full speed but without sound still. Memory has beed upgraded as well featuring 768MB of RAM and 8GB of Internal Memory for storage.
As stated 8GB is for storage of Videos, Photos, Music and documents, 768MB is for install apps, games and themes. You can increase the 8GB by inserting a microSD card. Also features NFC.

In the Software, this features an Compass app, Docs To Go Premium Edition, Preinstalled FaceBook, Twitter, BBM and MySpace. No new games, keeps the old brickbreaker and wordmole.

Others features keeps same, WiFi, TouchScreen, Optical TrackPad.

Overall this is an really fast smartphone which would move you to an new era of mobility, the only fault is that in the actual state, it cannot be used as an Mobile HotSpot device but probably this feature will be added in BlackBerry Software 7.1

Great phone with Best of both worlds - Touch and Type.

Was using an Old BB model, it was time to switch. Bought Apple Iphone 4.. was happy to get Iphone.

But sold off iphone in 3 weeks. Ordered Blackberry Torch 9810 and this time I was WAY more happier than I was with iphone. BB Torch offers best of both worlds... Touch and Type. The touch is awesome and very responsive.. but yes the onscreen keyboard it not that great. keyboard is as usual very handy and I can type much faster on Keyboard.

Overall the Phone is bloody fast and responsive. 6 months of use and its going very strong. Its flashy and fashionable as well.

Complete seamless control over all forms of communication... and fun too.

This is the anti-iphone. Anyone who actually uses a phone for real business or just for communication, this is a must have. Seamless use for email, text, and calling with complete control over your communications with REAL buttons.

If you have never had a Blackberry, it will take a little time to adjust. Traditional users will be able to acquaint themselves with just about every feature in a matter of moments.

Using the real keyboard I have never sent an errant text.. unless it was MY fault.. no mysterious buttons get pushed or strange words sent when you are in control.

All that being said, if you want to while away your life staring at games, and apps... then this phone has all the essentials such as FB, Twitter, etc. Very easy to transfer music files from your computer, just like a flash drive.

I bought my newest phone because I dropped my last Torch in the bathtub. With the Blackberry Protect program, all my information was on the cloud and my new phone simply restored all my information.

And if you're addicted to touch screen, the 9810 has that as well. It seems to respond much better than the 9800 model did.

Great phone very fast good for browsing, email, txting and calender

I got this for 50 bucks at AT&T and love it compared to the 9800, the 9800 sucks compared to this, this is fast, great camerea, great web browser, the apps are not great but they have some fun ones and useful ones (angry pigs, crush the zombie, flashlight app,google maps, and more) The batterie will last you the whole day with no problem but if you forget to charge in the night it wont last the next day. Some times it glitches but its minor. The keyboard is great and the touch screen is great. Great job BlackBerryLire l'avis complet...

Awesome and great product

This is really a nice phone as it has the latest OS7 and performs a lot of added functions.the memory capacity is ok for a phone.i sold this phone to a customer and she likes it.she does a lot of video recording with the phone.she stores a lot pictures too.it is a perfect phone if you are looking for a phone that will give you a clear High quality recording picture,i will recommend this for you.the 4G data is awesome as customers request more of this phone because of his features.i will highly recommend it for a faster speed of internet.Lire l'avis complet...

good and ease of use...apps and features are cool/great..handy
can use it anywhere as long as there is connection.
