GREAT PURCHASE

I bought this phone as a back up for my newer model Blackberry. It states AT&T unlocked. I put my TMobile SIM card in, plugged the battery charger in and made my first phone call in less than 5 minutes after getting it out of the mailbox. I'll have to say...there's something to be said for old school. Though it came w/o a manual and this model doesn't have a trackball, which is the only way I've ever used a smart phone, it was sooo easy to figure out. I'll give it to my husband who is not tech savvy at all, but now he'll have a BlackBerry also (unless something happens to mine and I have to take it back). This was an awesome deal for me and it's an awesome phone. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone that's interested. Another great thing about it is the size of the keys. They are much larger than the ones on my Blackberry, making it much easier to dial numbers and text. Buy one! You won't be sorry!Lire l'avis complet...

Reliable, ease of use, quad band phone for internatonal travels.

The only phone that I can see the LCD screen in bright sunlight. It is even better than the e-ink reader I own. This phone makes it easy to transfer outlook address to the phone. The vibrate feature is the best in this category. Even after all the abuse, and the product that was released 7-8 years ago, it is one RELIABLE phone. Drop it a couple of times, and it still works great.

I had the samsung blackjack and the sharp sidekick. Both product failed in less tha a year. I also have used Nokia musicxpress, and the touchscreen fails. All those fancy features is useless, if the product fails especially when you are travelling in another country. Just slip in the sim card, and you know it works.

After all those abuse, ths phone works great for a price less than $20.

Uncomplicated work horse that gets the job done with battery life to spare.

I love the old blackberry products. Some things in life are best left uncomplicated - no music, no video, etc. Just a work horse that gets the job done. There are some features that could use updating such as a speakerphone. But, overall there is no easier keyboard, longer batterry life, or rugged product on the market.

RIM is missing a big void by not offering business work horses like the original products. Everything has its place - I have an iPad and other techno toys, but I have a demanding corporate job that requires I be productive - else I won't have a personal life. I don't need complicated equipment to slow me down.

Blackberry 7290

I wanted a phone for purely text, since that is the plan I have, I love this phone, it is easy to type on, gets good reception and is just what I wanted. I had an iPhone first, and it is almost impossible to text onb an iPhone, the letters are so close to each other, that your fingers press every letter next to the one you want to press! The Blackberry is great! I recommend it to anyone that texts a lot!Lire l'avis complet...

Good big screen phone. Nice value. Happy with it.

Good basic phone. Operates on most GSM networks, I can easily read the big screen. Has adjustable font size to 14 point. Is a large phone, but in order to get a large screen and qwerty keyboard that is necessary,Lire l'avis complet...

Not the easiest phone to use

I needed a cheap phone to get me through until I can upgrade in a month so I bought this phone (my iphone broke when my 2 yr old knocked it out of my hand and it would cost more to fix it than I orginally paid for it.) It is not easy to use and the way the text messages are displayed are really confusing. The wheel to select is on the side so it is easily bumped. I'm sure the newer blackberries are better but this one is not the greatest.Lire l'avis complet...

very nice phone for the price

I really love this for a first smartphone, due to the low price. It has all the features I was looking for. The only negative I would say is the main trackwheel and control for the phone, being on the side, where you normally hold the phone. This gets in the way of using it. When you pull it out of its holster, the trackwheel is right there in the way. It is rather large, but I knew that going in, and this doesnt affect how well i like or dislike it however. I'm very happy with my Blackberry Rim.Lire l'avis complet...

Bullets and the 7290 Blackberry

I purchase these all the time. Primarily they are used for my business. I like being able to purchase them for pennies on the dollar when compared with newer technology. We provide road side assistance like changing tires, jump starting vehicles etc. My techs abuse them but they hold up fairly well. We don't need new technology just rugged and economical communications devices. These are about as close as you get to meeting those requirements. I have noticed some issues with them when they are not unlocked properly. I have seen more than my share of "searching for network" indications on some of them. Mostly that would track back to the person or company doing the unlocking. Overall they are a solid product, I just wish they were bullett proof!Lire l'avis complet...

Blackberry 7290, Quad Band GSM Cellphone

Great back-up GSM phone that works in all locations. Yeah, it's old school, but for the price I get a great sounding cell phone with great texting ability due to the full keyboard. All at a price that's way less than a typical pay-as-you-go non-qwerty keyboard cell phone that you re-task by using your existing SIM card.Lire l'avis complet...
