Did not work for me dispite carefully following the directions.

This product did not work for my pool water. I have a 6000 gallon pool 3rd year with same water. I used well water to fill and have been fighting it since the begining. The first and second year i got it worked out before the hot weather came. I think I used to much stabilized clorine through those first two learning years. It was clear and clean when i uncovered it this spring but soon the water was green and I couldn't bring it back this year. I learned of clorine lock due to high cynuric acid. That was my problem. I had exsauted every effort to remedy including partial drain and refill/dilute. I followed all directions, had the ph and clorine levels right before and during the application. I removed triclor tabs and used sodium based unstablized liquid clorine insted of powder shock. I divided the product in thirds (the 8 oz package is for 25000 pool) and tried three times allowing at least 4 days dwell time in between. One time I waited the full 10 days. It was a waste of money and huge waste of time for my situation! I had to drain and refill. That fixed the problem in two days. My acid levels did come down slightly at times but rose again quickly. So sad, hope it works for somebody somewhere. I will never get those sunny days back floating in our pool that we missed. At least I made the move to drain and refill and gave up on this product to enjoy the rest of the summer that remains.Lire l'avis complet...

Not Good for Hot Tub

Used the whole bag over a period of two weeks in a 450 gallon hot tub. There was never an indication on my testing strips that the Cyanuric Acid was reduced. All other indications on the testing strips was spot on (ph, chlorine, etc.). Draining an refilling the hot tub will definitely be cheaper than using this product.Lire l'avis complet...

Outdated product

We received the product but it was outdated. It had a "Best Used by 03-2022. I used the product and it did not clear my spa. When i looked at the package closer I realized that it was outdated. We have a 2,000 gallon swim spa. The package should have been able to treat a 25,000 gallon swimming pool.

Great product but follow the instructions!

Did everything the product description says and then a whole lot of extras. All buyers beware for best results PH and Alkalinity need to be in the appropriate ranges and you should have barely to NO chlorine in your pool. I learned the hard way with my first bag it attacked the chlorine instead of the Cyanuric Acid (CYA). Lire l'avis complet...

"Chlorine lock" is eliminated with this product....really!

We have a 20,000 gal pool and after 5 years of the same water in it (why change eh?) and continuous use of those "stabilized" 3" tablets we ended up with the dreaded chlorine lock syndrome where the stabilizer blocked both the sunlight out (what it is supposed to do) and also rendered the chlorine useless; we were crawling with algae and it was incurable; no matter how many tablets we put in. The cure? Change the water! Really? In Los Angeles with a severe drought? Not a chance! One sharp pool guy taught me about this; I bought one bag and it didn't do the entire job (plan on TWO at least) so after the second one AND switching to liquid chlorine (NO more tablets!) then the problem was completely solved. Spending less than $90 saved 20,000 gallons of water and that would have cost me probably $500+ and a black mark on my water bill for a long time to come (they heavily penalize you for that stuff). Don't bother researching for another product; this is not replicated (yet) and no generic; it is a pure enzyme and they appear to have it patented & know a good thing when they invented it. This is the ONLY answer; don't waste time with anything else; I tried and it won't work. This stuff is the best! Lire l'avis complet...

After just 2 days, my Cyanuric Acid number had dropped to 60.

I was desperate after draining the pool 3 times just to get the Cyanuric Acid down to 105 range. More draining was the recommendation but I have well water and every time I drain water, it's a battle to get back to where I can check the numbers again. After reading the reviews and seeing that about 1/3 of them said it didn't help, I decided it was time to roll the dice and give it a try away. I'm glad that I did. After just 2 days, my Cyanuric Acid number had dropped to 60. I can't say that it will work for you, but I'm relieved to be able to begin my normal maintenance cycle after 3 weeks of fighting this problem.Lire l'avis complet...

Bio Active

This is the 2nd time I needed to use this product, because our Cyanuric Acid was high.
This high level prevented us from using more of our stabilized chlorine tablets.
The acid level was 128 the first time, Bio Active lowered it to 77 after using 16 oz. in a 31,000 gallon pool. The second time was early this summer, the acid level was 120 and 8 oz. lowered it to 75. I wished that I used 16 oz. That # limits us still from, using tablets, so the acid level does not get out of control again. It is a Great product that works! I just wished that it had a lower price. When compared to draining the pool and changing water, it still is the best deal out there.

Great Product, BUT follow the instuctions.

Greatest product I have bought for the pool. It does what it says it does. You just HAVE to follow the instructions as described and the results will be there and the pool will return to the its pristine state again. Lire l'avis complet...

Great product that really works with a little added heat to activate it.

This product is unique and worked superbly. My cyanuric acid level was over 125 and I didn't want to waste 64% of my pool water and salt to lower that level. My usual summer pool temperature is 92 to 94 degrees. I used one 8 ounce packet and my cya was down to 40 within 5 hours of using Bio Active. Within 27 hours my cya was down to zero. I suspect that most of the criticism of this product is due to inadequate pool water temperature; not enough to really activate the biological process. This product definitely works and is a great alternative to wasting many thousands of gallons of water and pool chemicals. My recommendation is to mix Bio-Active to a five gallon bucket of warm water, let the mixture become biologically active for several hours, keep the mix warm, then pour the mixture into the pool skimmer and let it go to work. I think a reasonable amount of heat is the key to letting this product work effectively in a swimming pool.Lire l'avis complet...

Didn't work for me.

Maybe this worked for other people, but not me. Some have posted that it had little to no effect on their pool or hot tub water, I took a chance anyway. It did virtually nothing for mine.
When the first 8oz package didn't seem to do anythin , I ordered another and drained at least 50% of my hot tub before refilling it and adding the 2nd package. My CA level has barely gone down.
Now I'm convinced I need to fully drain the hot tub gain and start from scratch.
