A fun Spanish / English dictionary for kids!

This is a delightful and comprehensive pictorial dictionary featuring the Dr. Suess character - The Cat in the Cat (or at least the cover features him - a little baffling, as he does not seem to appear anywhere else in the book, yet the book is titled - The Cat in the Hat beginner book) - so caution - if you are a fan of this character, do not buy the book on the merit of the cover, as it seemingly has no relation to our feline friend!!
Nevertheless, what you do get is a comprehensive dictionary featuring over 1000 English words - their pictures, and the Spanish translation in the format of a sentence! It will hep ordinarily with word recognition and Spanish reading; the last few pages are also designed to help with Spanish speaking - with tips on pronunciation!
This is a cute book and kids will like it - but I also see a MAJOR flaw. It has the English word plain as can be, alongside the picture - it would then be helpful to have the Spanish word alongside this so kids can place the image and word together...but it fails to do this - instead the Spanish word always falls in the midst of a phrase or sentence, and though this might be good for a slightly older audience, I fear it may confuse the beginners for which this book is intended!!
This is a cute idea, but I think beginners may want to try something a little more simple and clear then move on to this book, which will be great for helping children use the Spanish word in the right context!Lire l'avis complet...

great and i would highly reccommand as a second language

i bought this book so i could help my children learn a second language.The only thing that i would dislike about this book would be the find print is small and its time for mommy to get glasses. But the children look it and the photos are amazing.The way it set up and. is very clear and understanding where if i can read all the times where my six year old child could read and sound it out to his siblings.Lire l'avis complet...

Nice pictures, okay translation

Some of the translations seem off, but it has a lot of fun pictures that make up for it. (I think we got an older copy?)

The illustrations are great. The book is fun and easy to get through. If you can find one get it. Your children can learn so much.
