Well made but...

This is a great company who makes excellent loops, but 20x may be a bit small for many. The stronger the magnification, the smaller the lens. A lower magnification may be the best for most. 10x is good for coins, and this is the brand I use personally. Bausch and Lomb are known for their lenses.
I also have a 14x which I use when I have to get an extremely magnified look at some minute characteristic on a coin. Even 14x is small, so I use a 10x and also have a 7x to view most of my coins.Lire l'avis complet...

Hastings 20x vs Coddington 20x

These are small and very powerful. Essentially, it’s detail is equivalent to a microscope. The Coddington is 1/2” diameter and actual lens is 1/4”. Hastings even smaller and about 1/4” diameter for lens and body. Coddington gives you a little of fish eye lens and Hastings allows full lens diameter to see through. Excellent for precise detail. Looking at the Bausch Lomb logo through the 20x, I can see patterns of stars to make up the print in logo. Holy!!! If had to choose... like the size of the Coddington in my hand, but Hastings doesn’t give me fish bowl effect. No fish bowl wins for me!Lire l'avis complet...

Great magnifier! Love my B&L 20x Hastings Triplet

I can see the coins at a level of detail I could not with my 7x Hastings magnifier. Its been very useful in identifying doubling, assessing marks, and determining if I want to get a coin graded.

Small but powerful

Much too small to be useful

While the quality of this Bausch & Lomb product is good, its extremely small size makes it very difficult to adequately focus on and move around the surface of the item you are trying to magnify.
