Batman: The Animated Series Vol. 3 lives up to standard

Despite being a cartoon and airing on predominantly kid-themed channels, Batman: The Animated Series has been one of the enduring depictions of The Dark Knight since it made its television debut. Set in dreary Gotham City, Batman: TAS is much more than a Saturday-morning cartoon; it is a continuous drama that rivals any live-action series. And in Volume Three, it doesn’t disappoint.

Volume Three contains 29 episodes and there are some changes from earlier volumes. First, it features Robin much more than before. Whereas Volume One had Robin making only cameo appearances, now the Boy Wonder plays a bigger role.

Also, there are more bad guys. Sure The Joker, Two Face, Poison Ivy and the gang are back, but now Batman must also deal with new characters like Bane, the “enhanced” wrestler and Baby Doll, the former child actor.

Batman Animated series vol 3

These are the best batman episodes any true fan could own. Vol 1-4 are worth the money stores put on them, (50 to 30 retail) but you could get them cheap on ebay.
These episodes are violent and action packed but not too violent for young kids. Every episode has a great story, plot, and characters in them. Also when any new villian appears it will show what caused the villian to hate batman or his/her history, there wont be a time where a villian just appears out of nowhere and you dont know why he/she wants revenge.

Batman has driven a three year old Batty -- in a good way!

My granddaughter just turned three years old and she is a huge fan of the entire Batman: The Animated Series. She asked to watch it daily. With this fourth set of DVDs she is in Bat-heaven. Batman the Animated Series - Volume Three (2005, DVD)

If you're even just a casual Batman fan this is a must buy. It has the feel of Tim Burton's vision of the characters. The pacing and atmosphere is amazing. By this 3rd volume you can see the creators have gotten more comfortable with making this show. Scarface and Bane are introduced and are showcased with style. Original villians are on their decline however and some are already locked up in jail. Even so, this show puts new "kids shows" to shame.Lire l'avis complet...

Great Buy!

I love the batman animated series. I have already watched all the episodes three times, and all the commentaries. My only complaint is the one episode on the 4th disc that skips. It's not a burden though, because it skips for about 2 seconds during a non-action scene. I bought a season from BestBuy and two episodes were skipping terribly, I had to return it. This is the Batman I will always picture in my mind!

This is the Batman i grew up with! The dark animation just catches your eyes. Its pretty much the way i would vision Batman, in a comic book. It takes me back to when i used to go home from school and watch it on tv! I recommend this dvd set to anyone looking to bring back some good memories of your childhood!Lire l'avis complet...

If you don't own these, buy them!

The show itself is incredible. By season three you really see Timm & Dini hit their creative stride, along with delving deeper into the Adams & O'Neal 70s grittier stories from the comics. I cannot for the life of me understand WHY this series was scrapped for years before being rebooted ( and even then for only another season).
