"Based on a True Story" is a "Sad Story!"
Kimberley Locke has a beautiful and distinctive voice. Her woodsy, soulful sounds and melodies are immediately recognizable. Then why don't producers give her better songs to sing on her two CDs? "One Love" was totally unforgettable except for one single and a duet with Clay Aiken that never did get released as a single. She is a true talent whom we learned to know in season #2 of "American Idol," along with the other two members of that year's top 3: Clay Aiken & Ruben Studdard. What are the producers of "Based on a True Story" thinking? With the execption of a dance tune, "Band of Gold," a remake of the 70's Freda Payne classic, the songs are truly forgetttable and I cannot predict that even one will get chart play. Producers need to showcase the vast talents of Miss Locke with diva-like ballads that will display her musical range; this stuff is "fluff" that will place this CD on marked-down racks for $1.00 within a year. I truly wish that I had spent my money on buying a long-playing dance-mix of "Band of Gold" instead of wasting it on this CD.........my second disappointment of this great singer; guess "Simon" is right; "it is all about song choice!" Great CD - Kimberley Locke needs air time!!!
This CD has several great songs on it. It is a shame she is not getting air play on the radios. It showcases her voice in each song and there is everything from up beat to sad to mad on it..... Based on a True Story.Lire l'avis complet...
Kimberley Locke is a gem!
I discovered Kimberley when I watched American Idol Rewind-Season 2. I just love her voice and knew I had to get her cds. I heard a song at work called "Change" and I felt it sounded like her-so I checked it out and listened to a clip and I knew it was her then. I went searching for her cds and found "Change " on this one. I was so happy! Thanks so much for having it available.Lire l'avis complet...
