Volume I is Number 1 for all Barbie Collectors!

In my own opinion, and probably most Barbie & Barbie "family & friends" Collectors, Mrs. Eames has certainly written one of the best sources of information on their Vintage clothing & accessories ever found. Beautiful color photographs are found on every page, of complete fashions of all things Barbie, Ken, Skipper and their family & friends for the 1959-1967 "era". Along with the stunning photos are detailed descriptions, including item number and year of issue.
The collector finally has a reference book with all they need to know, nothing is omitted from this wonderful book. If you are looking for THE book, the one that has all the information you ever needed to know...THIS is THE book for you! In the index section, along with the item name and what page the item is located in the book, is a "current" value as well.
I do not have Volume II yet, but lucky to also own Volume III, and if I could find any improvement in her Volume III compared to the format of Volume I it would have to be the way the INDEX is arranged. It is listed by year and item number under categories and doll names, with the prices omitted in this section but included with the actual pictures & descriptions of the items. I find it is easier to locate the clothing compared to this first volume. I highly recommend Volume I for any and all collectors, no disappointment will be had. Sarah Sink Eames has written THE reference book for Barbie lovers!!

I purchased this book as a reference for myself, as a collector and as a seller. I recognize she is an authority on Barbie and her fashions. I find that I use this book quite frequently, so I'm happy it's hardcover. I use it to identify doll and outfit names, year of introduction, and what was included in the complete set. I also use it to see variations that I had not seen before. I just wish there was an alphabetical index. It would help me with the names that I DO know, instead of flipping pages, because I don't know what year it was introduced. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this book. Sarah Sink Eames' Barbie Fashion, Vol. I, 1959-1967 is a conscientious and thorough identification guide to Barbie and friends fashions for the given years covered. Clear photographs enable the collector and proprietor to easily identify and label each fashion- as well as those elusive accessories. The fashion name and number series as well as cleaning tips and historical anecdotes are also covered.
Typically, the price guide reflects values geared toward the mint collector and dealer. Unfortunately, these guides are often unrealistic for a large portion of the collector market.

A comprehesive listing of Barbie outfits! A must have for any colllector!!

This is the most accurate and comprehensive listing of Barbie outfits! I have been researching the various outfit of this era. I have found that people do not include the correct items in their personal sales. Sometimes, additional items are included, which is a bonus! Fabulous resource for those who collect vintage Barbie

If you collect vintage Barbie (1959-1967), this book is a must. Each and every outfit is pictured, along with all those hard-to-find accessories, so that you know exactly what you need to complete your wardrobe collection. If I had any criticism at all to make of this book, it would be that the index in the back makes it difficult to quickly locate individual outfits, as it is done by page rather than alphabetically or by year of release.
