Like the other reviewers are telling you....this book is a little treasure! Aunt Bea epitomizes Mayberry when it comes to good cooking and a lot of people went to a lot of work to make the recipes seem like they came out of her kitchen. From pot roast to fried chicken to her freshly baked desserts. They have also included other recipes that Aunt Bea had when she went to Mexico and when she owned her own Chinese restaurant, and the funniest are the variations of her "kerosene pickles" but I am sure the pickles in the book taste real good! You also have all the cast, crew and writers listed along with some pictures and dialogue from the show throughout the book. A real keeper.....just like Aunt Bea!Lire l'avis complet...

The One I Always Turn To

I don't know how I came to own this cookbook, but I have to say it is my favorite. No Rachel Ray stuff here...only recipes from ladies in the Andy Griffith show fan club, real ladies! Real food for real families...no fancy stuff. You won't need special spices or talents. I use this cook book all the time and over the years have even memorized some of the recipes. I'm on ebay now looking to get one for my best friend as she has been complaining of late that she has nothing good to cook for her family. There's pictures and anecdotes from the Andy Griffith show cast as well if you like that show. Even if you don't it is cute and a good cook book to boot.Lire l'avis complet...

If you like Mayberry, Andy and the cast, you'll love this book.
What a great idea; recipes, and photos from the show; some with the actors
facsimile autograph. Lots of nice recipes to try.

Better than Aunt Bee's Other Cookbook

This cookbook is way better than Aunt Bee's Sunday Dinner cookbook. At least this one has a LOT more recipes in it than the second cookbook. This one is worth the money. Although it still kind of falls into the category of being a story book mixed in with recipes. When I buy a cookbook, I am only interested in recipes and not clips from the show. The price was really good on this book and if you're a die hard Andy in Mayberry fan, then it's a must read. If you're a good cook looking to try new recipes or a mediocre cook wanting to learn how to cook simple uncomplicated recipes, this is also a good book for you.Lire l'avis complet...

mayberry cookbook

The book arrived in real nice shape. I bought it to add to my wifes collection. This one is real neat and has some pictures of the show and some real decent reciies to boot! I do believe it ws purchased at a decent price and my wife has been showing it off to all her friends. It really has turned out to be fun to look for some real rare and decent cookbooks on ebay! It is also very interesting and educational to see some of the cookbooks that some of the early TV shows generated. I do now spend at least an hour a week looking to see just what is out there. The food is basic every day fare; however the presentation of coming from Aunt Bee's kitchen and the kitchens of all her friends makes a great read for any Andy Taylor fan. Awesome cookbook!

Simple, easy, great recipes. Home cooking at it's best. Never found a single recipe that's bad. I had another copy and destroyed it by using it so much so bought a new one. Wish it was on laminated papers ... have gotten too many chocolate spots or grease spots on the old pages - I always refer to this cookbook whenever I'm cooking dessert or an appetizer or salad - those are the best.Lire l'avis complet...

Nostalgic Reading

Wow does this book bring back memories. Love the quotes & pictures they include from the old shows and the recipes are great; some funny & some quite good. Any fan of this show should own this book.
