A GREAT CHOICE FOR CLOSE-UP VOICER WORK! COMPARE TO THE SENNHEISER 416 SHOTGUN!

I am a veteran voiceover artist and VO coach, so I've owned many different mics, and talked into units costing many thousands of dollars.Yet this inexpensive little mic blew me away! IT'S A GREAT MIC, REGARDLESS OF PRICE. The famous VO audio engineer George "the tech" Whittam compared this to the $1,100 Sennheiser 416 shotgun in an online video, declaring that this AT mic had better tonal balance than the 416, with less high-end harshness. He also suggested that, in some VO booth applications, the AT might well be the better choice! I agree! Best little shotgun mic around

I love this microphone! This is the second AT875R microphone i've owned and i bought it again because they are so good... especially for the price. I can mount it on a small camera and get great audio from people speaking as well as musicians performing. It's as if they are personally miked. The only thing you have to remember is that it is a condenser microphone without it's own power supply, so you need to provide phantom power for it to work.Lire l'avis complet...

Audio Technica AT875R Shotgun Mic

Very happy with the mic. It has good reception at distances up to 35 ft. Of course the sound quality is best within 5 ft or less. While is not a Shure or Sennheiser for the money it is an excellent sounding mic. Am very happy with it.Lire l'avis complet...

Audio Technica AT-875R condenser shotgun mic

Not only is this the best dedicated video camera mic, it works well for amateur studio video blog use. This is the est sounding mic I have ever bought for the price I paid.

Good for on-camera use

I find the sound quality has less full lows than Azden SGM-250P, but it it is well made, smaller, and doesn't get into the frame when mounted on a DSLR in the hot shoe.

Excellent microphone, best shotgun I've used so far in that price range!

I own a RØDE NTG2 and this microphone, and the difference is amazing! this microphone outperforms the NTG2 hands down! For 100$ less than the RØDE, this microphone has a very good pickup pattern and an excellent off-axis rejection. Only downside over the NTG2, it requires phantom power.Lire l'avis complet...

A good quality mic for a variety of situations

This mic is very bright. Much brighter than the 897, and appears to have more power. Light weight and compact. Lots of presence.
