By-far more entertaining than the first
I really enjoyed this game, a lot more than the first. I played absolutely every aspect of the game (all side missions, main missions, and trophies) which takes a lot more than 12 hours as mentioned earlier. My only complaints where square movement, preprogrammed camera angles on certain sequences, and lag in the changing of contextual button controls). If you play the game you will know what I am talking about, contextual buttons change what their action is based on what the character is doing or what item he has equiped. This game has a lot of contextaul controls which adds to the versatility of character control despite the limited amount of buttons on your controller.
The Assassins Creed storyline is great, assassinating guards never gets old, especially from the air or stealth.

Everything Frustrating in AC is gone in AC2
A few gameplay elements from AC1 were pretty frustrating, getting chased by guards simply by walking a tad faster, hiding spots are kinda tricky to find at times, little to no variety in assassinations, etc. However, Ubisoft listened to our critisism and gave us an AMAZING follow up that leaves the first game like it never happened. The story is clever (the first one had a pretty cool story too actually) navigation is more fun since the towns appearence is a better fit for your navigation techniques. What is not to love about this game?
You start off roughly with Desmond Miles, subject 17. He sums up the events of what has happened in the first game quite nicely - it's a great way for a new player to start, or an old one to remember. Following his story, you travel through the memories of one of his ancestors, Ezio Auditore of Firenze.
Ubisoft works to please.
The graphics in this game are absolutely breathtaking- the scenery is amazing and worth the trouble one goes to in order to see it. Just as a good as the first, even better with time. Traveling through Italy pulls away from the killing in the game and definitely gives players something else to marvel at. Also, the parkour in this game is definitely something that will have people coming back to the game. Unforgettable. Whether you've got Ezio (or Desmond) scaling walls jumping roof to roof, or climbing the windows of the church, one definitely won't run out of things to explore.
The amount of things you can do in the game are endless and while the fighting sequences in this game can become rather repetitive, all it takes is some readjusting in weapons and fighting style to give players that first-game kill thrill once more.
Whether you've played the first game or are a newcomer to Assassin's Creed, this game does not fail to disappoint. The storyline is clear and falls into place as you go. Where the ending leaves you wanting more, you definitely will spend hours on this game.

Such a great game!
This game is a great example of how open-world games should be done. There's a great storyline with plenty of things to do outside of that. You're never forced to do anything but play through the story, but if you want the most out of the game, you will.
The only thing that can get confusing is the story. There is a lot of background to the game that you have to keep track of to know what's going on and why certain things in the game are happening. This isn't really a huge problem though.
The graphics are outstanding. The designers did an excellent job imitating Italy in the 1400s. Character graphics look as good as characters can look, and everything just feels so real.
I got lost in this game for a week, eating up everything there was to do before finishing it soon after I bought it. If you're looking for just an outstanding game, with so much to do and a great story, I would definitely recommend this.Lire l'avis complet...
Assassin's Creed II
Assassin's Creed II is the follow-up to Ubisoft's 2007 hit that attracted a mass audience if not unanimous critical acclaim. The sequel is an expansive and bloody romp through Renaissance Italy that plays up every popular aspect of the first installment while righting many of its flaws. Assassin's Creed II has evolved from an ill-defined action game into a fully featured open world experience. Everything from the new monetary system to the ability to buy armor and weapons makes it a richer, and ultimately more satisfying game than its predecessor.
The plot of Assassin's Creed pulls together a bit of The Matrix, a lot of historical fiction, and throws in elements of the madcap conspiracy theories found in a Dan Brown novel. The series also has the benefit of being crafted by some of the most talented hands in game development. With only a handful of exceptions, the environments, animations, and art are beautifully portrayed. So Average It Blends In With My Beige Carpet
After playing all games of this series from start to finish, I still honestly can't see the appeal to this game. Its mission-based story line breaks the suspense and the lack of explanation of new features makes discovering them a pain in the ass. The controls are more tempermental than your grandmother on her period, and the visuals, though sometimes fantastic, quickly degrade into that uncomfortable spot of the uncanny valley. This game is so 'meh' I honestly don't know what more to say. This sequel has triumphed over the original!
Assassin's Creed II transforms a middling action game into an intriguing and consistently entertaining open-world adventure. Based on this game, Ubisoft Montreal should run a clinic on how to iterate a franchise and if the series continues in this vein, the next installment will take aim at Rockstar's best efforts. The experience is layered, unique, and shows an incredible attention to detail. This is one case where the sequel has triumphed over the original by catching the gameplay up to the already excellent visuals. No matter what your preconceptions are about Assassin's Creed II, the game is well worth your time and money.

AC2 good sequel without the cool feeling
Great game, easy to get the Platinum Trophy with one play through. Plenty of game play, slightly updated controls with new weapons. Can sometimes be too much to do. Great Game
One of the better Ubisoft titles. Sandbox lovers will love this game for its scope, magnitude, and the sheer size of the map of Italy. Platform lovers will love its free running. Those who love theatrical games will love this for its compelling story-telling and cinematic scenes. Assassin's Creed II is a third person action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is the second video game installment of the Assassin's Creed series and is a direct sequel to the 2007 video game Assassin's Creed. The game was released on video game consoles in November 2009, and released for Windows in March 2010.[8][12]
The game is set in 2012, with player-controlled protagonist Desmond Miles escaping from Abstergo Industries with an employee, Lucy Stillman, after being forced to relive the genetic memories of ancestral assassin Altaïr ibn La-Ahad through a machine known as the "Animus."
