An iPhone warmup

All the features available in the iPhone without the phone and camera. With 32G memory, it has sufficient storage. The iPod is fairly easy to use. I especially like the touch screen and the interface with iTunes is convenient. A longer lasting battery would improve the product. The small size makes some displays difficult to read unless you enlarge them. If you don't have a plug in your vehicle, you will need an FM transmitter to use the vehicle's radio to listen to the iPod's audio.Lire l'avis complet...

Pro vs Contras and what would i add to the iPod

PROs:

Light
Amount of applications available
Easy to use
Portability
Design
Voice command
Wi-Fi
Customizable
Availability of accessories
easy to resell
Motion detector
Fast response
Good brightness
Password protected option
Easy to Jailbreak

CONTRAs:
$$$
i dont like iTunes as the only software to manage your iPod
Requires specific USB charger. not any charger can charge it.
Fragil
No camera
Fast discharge of the battery
Easy to scratch (you have to buy the protector)

Built in Speakers for everything not just some sounds.
More battery power
Sell them already jailbreaked

iTouch 3rd gen is good but has serious limitations

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase but mostly because I bought it used for much less than it was new. This unit is rich in features and is very easy to use. If you are just going to listen to music with headphones, then the battery will last 30+ hours of playtime, however if you are going to use Bluetooth, WiFi or even run some of the many apps or games that are available, then you can count on the battery lasting much less time. I use bluetooth headphones to listen to music and my battery lasts only 6-7 hours before I need to recharge it. Same when I play games or use WiFi to browse the net. Like I said, it is a very easy to use, feature rich device but it does have limitations. Besides the above, the battery is not user replaceable, the 3rd. gen iTouch does not have a camera or FM radio, and it does not act as a storage device. One last thing of major importance is security. Regardless of the security code you set, all someone has to do is reset the device to gain access to everything on your iTouch so there really is no true security.Lire l'avis complet...

Good if you want a cheap and effective MP3 player, but not much better.

For the price, it was probably worth it, but I give it a 4/5 for a few reasons.

1) No camera. The 4th and 5th generations have cameras on the front and/or back, yet this one has NOTHING. How is that possible? I figured for something this awesome, they'd at least have some updated features.

2) No ability to upgrade past second OS above it. the iPhones can go a lot farther in terms of OS upgrades; unfortunately this is pretty low-featured.

3) The hardware on it doesn't really support the software all that well. I would have figured that the amount of processing power and RAM it came with would have been enough, but I was sorely mistaken. My SGS2 performs lightyears ahead of this one, but the big issue on my phone was space. Now that I have "space" (this iPod), there's no speed that comes with it, and thus fluidity and usability is lost in the slowness of the hardware/software interaction.

For $100, I guess I can't complain, but I'm probably going to try to flip this for the same price and upgrade to the 5th generation...

Tons of fun to use and very handy, but low battery life.

I have found that this product is fun and easy to use for those who are even semi-technological savvy. The aps that you can get for this device can satisfy anyone's curiosity with the wide variety of choices, from games for the players and more everyday convinces for those with more practical needs.

However, the iPod Touch features a horrible battery life if you keep the screen brightness up high and have the wireless communications up. This might last you between an hour or two, so be sure to have some sort of portable charge with you because you'll be wanting it.

But if you turn off the wireless by setting it to "airplane mode" and have screen brightness toned down, you can squeeze a longer life out of the battery by a number more hours. Still, it is highly advised to have something to charge the battery with, just in case.

know what you need and what you dont

!!!! protect you ipod, buy an otterbox !!!

**I decided on the 3g 32gb. 1st gen can't support a mic, 2nd gen (AND 3rd gen 8gb!) are underpowered chip-sets that lag in apps and web browsing. I synced 9gb of music in a third the time I could with my 1st gen.
**I suggest no one get an 8gb as they use the slower chip-sets and if you want to go online or use apps you need to leave around 750mb free for buffering, i have no idea why so much but even the app store crashes when surfing with less than that. after you consider the op system and a few gadgets you only get about 4gb for music and honestly that is only 2-3 band discography's if you think about it.
**if you want to use the newest coolest apps you really need to get the iphone because anything that needs gps or the camera features is useless in the touch.
to summarize-- only want music? gen2 16gb should be attainable used for around 100 in the right places for cheap music, for web gen3 16 and up for the primo speeds processor, for the apple fanboy gen4 or iphone 2 or 4. (the cases on 3 are crap and break)

"specs" i can sync 30gb in about 2 hours: 8.5gb was around 6000 songs : average apps download in less than 10 seconds : i've been using it intermittently for 2 days and the batter is still near full charge : speakers are a bit quiet : screen is easliy visible in daylight : thinner than my 1st gen.

Great features, just what I was looking for. Just scared to drop it!

I bought the iPod touch primarily to make it easy to manage my band on the go. It's perfect for accepting payments for merchandise and shows as well as scheduling new shows right then and there and I find that most venues that we play these days all have wifi anyway so no need for 3G.

The only thing I dislike about it is how smooth the back is - it makes it really easy to drop. Definitely going to need to find a case of some sort for it.

There are two things that I find myself wanting and that is a camera and the voice record capability. Available in the next generation, but for considerably more money, this does the trick.

I love it!!!

This is my first Ipod so I had already done my research about Ipod touches before buying this one. I decided to go for the 32 GB player after I realised that only the 32GB and 64GB players actually have 3G features of voice activation and faster CPU. I bought my Ipod about a month ago and till now it has not shown any major problems. It did hang twice but a settings reset fixed it. I love the different apps and games that I can download and play on it. Like the ability to watch videos and check my email on it....overall it is a hand held computer. Wish they had prebuilt FM radio capability in it but it is not a huge issue since there are many external radio apps available that are just as good. The back of the ipod does tend to get scratched easliy so the first thing that I would recommend is a nice protective case.Lire l'avis complet...

Apple Ipod Touch 3rd Generaation (32 GB) Media Player

Seems to work really well, but the sound can't go as loud as I like. Fairly easy to use and set up without hours pouring over directions. I haven't figured out the page zoom on this one, which doesn't seem to be the same as the 1st Generation one. Battery seems to last fairly well. Great for WiFi accesss to internet, calendar, music playing, and video. I bought it since the 1st Gen doesn't have speakers. I haven't tried the voice control yet. I think you have to use a mic which I find weird. At least for voice memo you do so I'm guessing you must use a mic for all voice activated controls. That kind of ruins it for me, and is inconvenient. Mostly I like it, just the zoom issue and the voice thing which is kind of a big deal to me. You should just be able to push a button or just talk to activate voice control.Lire l'avis complet...

Versatility with the iPod Touch 3rd Generation!

I really like my iPod Touch (3rd Generation)--I had a regular iPod previously, and the improvements and versatility are awesome. I have not yet fully explored all its capabilities, and I've had a couple of hang-ups in the set-up, (not in the functionality of the iPod)--I wish that I had ordered/received an Instruction booklet as to its many functions; I did go online to see how to use some of its features and i did ask the seller if it would be compatible with my Bose iPod speakers because this would also recharge it--the iPod returns with an error message saying "the system does not support recharging", so now I need to buy a power cord or new portable speakers. I like that you can connect to the internet, WiFi, and Blackberry capabilities...Lire l'avis complet...
