not sure

The first problem I noticed with the new Nano was when I synced my songs over: it doesn’t sort the music by Artists exactly like on iTunes. For example, I have many Basshunter songs, but I also have quite a few remixes of his songs, and then both Artists are in the ‘Contributing Artists’ category. iTunes understands this and sorts all the songs into one ‘Artists’ folder, while the iPod decides to separate these Artists, which means I can’t listen to all of Basshunter’s songs at once. This is the same for a few other Artists, so I’d recommend the iPod should sort the music correctly, via Artists, and not incorrectly (as it current does, via Contributing Artists).

My second problem with the new Nano is that it doesn’t have an actual power button. Yes, many have seen a ‘power button’ on the photos of the Nano, but it turns out it’s simply a ‘Sleep/Wake’ button. This means that the Nano works for specifically 12 hours straight, and must be recharged once a day (especially if your music is paused). The same goes for the non-existent lock button. Alright, fine, it might be built into the sleep button (when the iPod is in sleep, touching the screen does nothing) but this also means that the screen is turned off. You read correctly, this cannot actually be used as a watch replacement seeing as you can’t have the screen on while the iPod is locked.

Another thing I don’t like is the inability to hide icons from the menu. In my case, Genres, Composers, Podcasts and Photos, seeing as I know I won’t be using them at all. Yeah, you’re probably thinking ‘oh, who cares’ but I tend to get annoyed with the little things as well as the larger problems.

I really like it. It is my second one.

Review For: Apple iPod nano 6th Generation Pink (8 GB)

I realy like this Nano. The screen is perfect for my needs. It came with a neoprene wrist watch holder and I feel a little like Dick Tracy wearing it! I was surprised how many people asked me if I was wearing the new Apple tv. The wrist watch holder is a very smart design because it provides a convenient way to carry my iPod without losing OR misplacing it in my purse. All I need are my music, audio courses and podcasts. It includes the radio so I can stay connected. I don't need to stare at pictures, so I deactivated this. The exercise features are good and include a pedometer and workout data options. The clock is nice as well. Touch screen. I was fortunate to get a very nice used one from an eBay seller, but the new version is pricey, I think. I think it is a pretty good value for a good used item. DON'T forget to make sure the screen protector is sold with the item, else the glass will break easily. With the screen protector, it is a pretty durable product.Lire l'avis complet...

Nice but expensive v capacity when compared to others. No remote!!

As with anything apple it's superbly designed and the build quality is second to none. Adding a radio to this generation has been a long time coming and finally brings that functionality up to date. The vast majority of people purchasing this item would have done so to exercise to music, hence the added Nike training facility but it would have a better marketing idea and allowed apple to get ahead of its competitors by including the required trainer sending unit to maximise its use.
The battery life is very good but as with anything with a touch screen its falls short in performance against the ones without it so you have to weigh up your personnal preference, also others have a much easier way of changing the battery when it finally does stop holding a decent amount of charge.
I bought it as a present so I've paid the extra for the sleek aesthetics, although again it's behind its competitors when it comes to including any remote facility!! Which we both agreed, to use in the cold winter months is a must, as you don't want to be taking off your gloves whilst running...yet again, something that is available from other companies for a lot less money!!

Great idea, not always that great in practice.

The gadget (this is what I believe the new Nano is, a gadget instead of a strong and reliable music player), is cute, and at first, as with all of the Apple new inventions, I fell in love with the idea.
Again, the product not always match in practice what the creators might have been willing to do, so you are walking, and music is playing, and you want to skip to the next track, and that won't be that easy to do.
What???
Yes. The easiest thing you can come up with doing, will take you to press the display many times before you get it to just go to the next song. I don't know why, and you cannot program it to do otherwise, it just goes dark once you press play, and then you have to press the on/off button, then press the screen, the watch appears, and then you have to press it again, so the play/pause/forward appears, and then you press the forward. But remember you are walking, or running, for like an hour, and you might want to skip tracks more than a couple of times.

The touch feature is also cute, but in this case there is not so much to do with it, so for me is kind of annoying and again not so reliable. By the way, I have the newest BlackBerry model, that is touchscreen, and I'm fighting with the touching feature too (like all of my iPhone friends are everyday) insulting the multitouch because it doesn't do what they want to do.

I'm still considering very seriously to replace for a regular old nano, or for a regular old shuffle, or even change brands (I never thought this would happen once I switched into "apple's world", but it is happening now).

The only thing is that I paid $150.- for it, I cannot sell it as new, I cannot return it anymore, so I probably will sell the thing on eBay and then buy something else.

That's MY take on it. I'm not saying that it will happen to everybody, just me.

Great Product, Very User Friendly!

The Apple iPod nano 6th Generation is a great product. The menus are elegant and the iPod's format is simple. It is very easy to find your way around the iPod's features. The new genius app is also extremely convenient for creating interesting play lists. I do have one complaint, the iPod's clip has a tendency to snap back at you and may be difficult to attach to certain clothing. Overall, this iPod is a great product for the value, but the design could have been a little more convenient and innovative.Lire l'avis complet...

Great Ipod

AT first, I had trouble loading music onto this Ipod. After a factory reset, it was good to go and I haven't had any issues since. I love the size and the clip--I don't even notice that its there, and I don't need to carry it in my pocket.Lire l'avis complet...

buy it if your going to use it for strickly music, its great.

I like this ipod, mainly because of its very small size and its touch screen capabilities. the only downfall I can find is the battery life. because it is so small it doesn't have the battery life of the bigger ones. if your looking for a bunch of features, go to the bigger size. I bought this specifically for music. 8gb is nice for the size, and doesn't weigh down your pocket...Lire l'avis complet...

Good, and tiny!

This a great iPod, if you're not into anything except music. If you want a little iPod touch, then, unfortunately, there is no option for you. This is nice, because it is very small and has a clip for sports. There aren't any apps for this, and there will never be, because it is much too small.

One thing I wish it could do is have customizable backgrounds, because you can only put on the about 12 pre-loaded backgrounds, only 2 of which are any good.

For a good estimate of size, the iPod shuffle is just about as big as it, so if you're someone who looses things easily, then this is NOT for you.

Good luck biding.

good for small portable music

I love being able to see my playlists and also use the FM radio. I don't like that the clip is difficulty to use and requires you to put your thumb on the screen, potentially changing the settings. I also like the pedometer feature. I wish tapping the screen would wake it up. It's way better than my ipod shuffle because now I can go find a song when I want a specific one.Lire l'avis complet...
