I-Pod's are just a little above average

I wasn't looking to get a self-personal traveling music player, but when the new car radio had an I-pod plug and I-pods hold 1000s of songs all controled from the car deck radio, I had to get one.

I found the touch screen cursor dosen't work then dose work but dosent stop were I want it to. lick my fingers and try again, 3 times later I have got my selection, a pain in the ass to use. Not precise enough for my likeing.

Apple I-Tones same thing, a pain in the ass to use to get your media loaded on your I-Pod in the order you want it. With to many restriction if you haven't bought it from them.

Some things positive is the video playing capability(but with small screen)the ear buds are dynamic with built in sub woofers. set it on the table and watch the bass move it off the table. It holds 1000's of songs and my car Alpine controls it easier than it controls its self.

I work in/with all types of digital media and found this consumer product to be a challenge for the average family person. Give up a lot of time to take your music with and it works fine. and money

Apple's iPod nano

I decided to treat myself to an iPod after my oldest daughter had borrowed my old mp3 player AGAIN and misplaced it. I love all the features the nano has. The sound is great and the video is superb. Shortly after my purchase I noticed some sound issues that I quickly contacted Apple about. They were quick to address the issue & promptly replaced my iPod...no questions asked. The phone service was excellent and I was impressed with the company's willingness to make me a satisfied customer. I am again a happy iPod owner and look forward to maxing out the memory on the 4 gig nano with movies, music, and photos galore!Lire l'avis complet...

Less is More, sometimes,

I have a 80Gb iPod and put all my songs on it - over 12,000 in all. Problem is, it is hard to find anything on it!

My cars have iPod interfaces, but with so much music on the "big" iPod, I can't find many songs very easily.

The solution? Less is More. I bought this 4GB nano for about $50 used on eBay and then selectively loaded it with songs from one of my computers. I put them into various playlists (rock, country, disco, lounge, etc.) and it is easier to find them in the car (which equates the playlists to CD numbers through the interface) or a lot easier to bring with to the beach.

Plus the spouse can press one button and get music. No more trying to explain Apple's "easy to use intuitive" interface, yet again, to the S.O. for the 1000th time.

I still have the "big" iPod, but these used Nanos are so cheap, you can afford to buy several of them and download just your favorite songs to them. And if you lose one or it goes dead - no big freaking deal.

This generation nano has the standard iPod plug, so it works with existing clock radios, car interfaces, stereo docking stations, etc.

iPod Nano Third Generation Greatness

Apple's ease of use is remarkable. I have owned another MP3 player previously and this one is even easier t o load with songs and navigate. Tons of features that other players don't give you the option of. Definitely worth paying a little extra for the Apple name to get a quality product.

Also I love the lock button which is flush along the bottom of the Nano. Other players have it on the side and is slightly raised which can easily be knocked into and drain the battery.

Inexpensive iPod that is great as a secondary player

I received this iPod nano as a gift, and to be honest, I don't use it much. I appreciate the small size and color screen, however in the era of the iPhone, this seems a bit redundant. This is also one of the least attractive iPod nanos that has been designed, and this iteration only lasted for one generation.

It functions fine and has the click scroll wheel which is nice for using in your pocket. It's a nice value now on the used market, but if you have an iPhone, there is little reason to get one of these with such a small capacity

3rd Generation Nano is a perfect evolution

The 3rd generation Nano, Available in capacities of 4, and 8GB (priced at $149 & $199 respectively) these have a scratch-resistant aluminum front, steel back (i recommend a cover to protect the back), rounded edges, and various colors, though the colors are only available in the 8GB models. You can get a 4GB Nano, though it only comes in Silver.

The 3rd Generation Nano has completely redesigned the Nano, and it feels like it is different on the sides when you hold it comparatively to the older generations. This design also makes it feel a lot thinner than it was, which is hard to believe, though it is only millimeters thinner. The screen has changed too, having a 2-inch viewing area, which makes it very easy to use, browse and watch. This new Nano now has a longer battery life. Apple claims that it will last 30 hours, but I was able to get just over 32 hours of playtime – which is nice… real nice.

The 3rd generation Nano comes with similar features as the previous version such as Volume Limit, Stopwatch, Screen Lock, and support for the Nike + iPod Sport Kit, but now has a wide variety of features, previously not found in the previous generations.

The new music search functions, the brighter screen (65% brighter than the 2nd generation), improved sound quality, coverflow, and added games give the new iPod added flare. The biggest difference in the 3rd generation of the iPod Nano is the new body style and the video capability additions.

The body style has changed from the “stick of gum” shape, to the internet given nickname “fatty”. The wider iPod allows for a larger, 2.0 inch screen that allows for a larger viewing area for games, albums, but more importantly - video. Yes, the new Nano allows a “little video for everyone”.

The video quality is sharp and crisp, and allows the user to watch TV shows with little strain, however, watching movies can strain the viewer (due to the length). This flash based memory player, and its storage size (4/8GB) allow for thinness, but if you put a couple of full length movies on your player, your space will fill up quickly. This is the one downside I have with this – hopefully there will be larger space selections in the future.

Also, the bottom of this unit has changed slightly. The headphone jack, the hold switch and the sync port are at the bottom, with the sync port directly in the middle. This allows for ease of use to transfer data.

s a fan small MP3 players, and of the past Nano line-ups, I love this design. I really do. I think the aluminum casing is the way to go, it is too bad it is not all the way around the unit. Should you replace your old 8GB Nano (2nd Generation) with the new one? If you really want video, coverflow, and games, I would say yes. Regardless if you upgrade, or decided to wait it out, I highly recommended this device to Apple lovers and new MP3 enthusiasts alike.

Pros:
-Brighter, crisper viewing screen
-Better sound
-Video capable
-Aluminum scratch-resistant casing on front
-Concave select button
-Amazing battery-life: 30 hours plus (5 with video)!
-Search features, cover flow, album art
-New colors to choose from
-Games for download via iTunes (3 are on the unit already)

Cons
-Still no built in FM tuner
-Limited space when it comes to video
-Sync port, hold switch, and headphone jack all on the same side"

great buy

All I wanted was something to play my music while I work out and this little gem is the ticket. It is easy to operate (except for the on/off switch design flaw) good sound quality and was priced right. I also like the size as it is easy to carry on a run. On this particular one the battery life is exceptional.Lire l'avis complet...

Nice MP3 player for the wife

The screen is bigger than my second gen. Better for pictures. The third gen is also a bit more compact. The polished stainless back is a nice touch. The wife uses a set of Bose Around-ear headphones and this set up sounds good.

The scroll wheel is too touchy and scrolls down the menus too far compared to my second gen.
I also had problems with loading music on the iPod. It was fine on the initial sync with iTunes but didn't want all the songs that iTunes put on it. iTunes gives me a bit of trouble due to auto-sync and loading all of my music in the program. It is my fault for not setting the program up properly before connecting the iPod.

I also use Media Monkey because it is more user friendly. I was going back and forth between Media Monkey and iTunes. Loaded music from Media Monkey and the songs were on the player according windows explorer and Media Monkey. But when I disconnected the player from the computer, there weren't any songs loaded. Had to restore the iPod in iTunes twice. Haven't had this problem with my second gen.

This could all be due to operator error (myself)or program compatibility problems. Still going to try to get the iPod to work with Media Monkey. a little more 'monkeying' around and will get it figured out. I like the 3rd gen.

Love the Ipod Nano 3rd Generation

I have always really enjoyed the Apple Ipod Nano Products. The Nano is just small and portable enough to carry around and listen to podcasts, audio books, and music yet just a good enough size to not get lost. It works great for a used product that I paid only $15.00 for. Lire l'avis complet...
