Accepts RockBox firmware, sturdy case design I can forgot about in pocket

The nano I received was at least 5 years old. The battery would go dead 20 minutes or less. After replacing it with a battery that cost a total of $7 including shipping it plays over 10 hours using the RockBox firmware. easy install requiring no technical knowledge to enjoy. Why do I use rockbox? So I can play .ogg files with better quality audio over MP3. If I had bought into iTunes music, I might not care about .ogg.Lire l'avis complet...

Lightweight and powerful.

Liked the size and its ability to load my favorite tunes. Small enough to use while even doing yard work.

good product.. nice to have. be patient with the battery life..still good

The ipod is good for listening to music at the train when going to school..... the protection that came with the ipod is also good and quality is excellent.... the battery life is the thing that bothers me that it can last about 8-10 hours and also the space it said that it can hold up to 1000 songs but barely can hold 500, which is reasonable to have.Lire l'avis complet...

Like new, I think better than used.

This is my second iPod Nano purchase that is manufacturer authorized refurbished. One for the bathroom dock. The iPod looks new with tiny minor scratches. Battery life is like new too. Works well and the sound quality rivals my ITouch. Great deal for a fifty buck Mp3 player. Can't beat an Apple iPod used, new, or refurbished. I could have bought a new MP3 player from a different manufacturer at a comparable price....Naw, I'm really happy with Apple products.Lire l'avis complet...

Would definitely purchase another as a gift for the beginner.

I bought this as a gift for a student at my school who was graduating. I made a deal with her in 6th grade that if she stayed out of trouble and kept her grades up, I would get her one for graduation. I have always liked the 1st and 2nd generation of Ipods, as I own several myself. My own daughter bought me my first one. They are easy to program on the computer whether with your own music or through the Ipod store. Battery life is pretty good. If I listen to mine alot, I just charge it overnight. If I haven't been using it, I try to remember to charge it about every other week. This is a good beginner Ipod for kids. I have been completely satisfied with all of my Ipods. 1st generation Nanos have come way down in price and is a good investment for parents to give their children without breaking their wallet. This is the simplest one to use, compared to the newer ones that have more "bells and whistles". A++++++++++Lire l'avis complet...

Not for everyone! Scroll wheel is imprecise to use! iTunes is awful.

It's the most overrated product I've seen in a while.

Besides the simple interface, everything else is awful, especially the scroll wheel. It is VERY imprecise especially in regards to volume. Don't even try to use it in your car, you will turn up the volume way too high without trying to and it can cause an accident.

Buy an MP3 player with physical buttons, it's MUCH easier. Plus it won't come with iTunes, which isn't always great.

The battery life is decent.

Awesome iPod! Apple should offer this one again as a new classic iPod!

I've owned both the 2GB and 4GB models, when these iPods first came out. I absolutely LOVE this iPod. The thinness of this iPod makes it wonderful to slip into your purse or pocket without any bulk.. It's almost the size of a credit card, just a tad longer. The battery life is satisfactory, and it has a nice color display, and all kinds of gadgets, like an alarm and games. This older model also allows you to sync your calendar and contacts to the iPod (I miss this on the newer models) I've owned every model iPod that has come out since they first came into the limelight. This one, as well as the 1st and 2nd generation shuffles are by far my favorite.Lire l'avis complet...

Good Product, Great value.

I bought this Ipod for the logic board because I repair ipods and I had to refurbish an ipod which had been ejected from a scooter during an accident, but it had a sentimental value. I used it a little bit before opening it and getting out the logic board, I thought the battery life was a little short, but it worked really good. But for the 40$ price it's a real good buy.Lire l'avis complet...

why all the unnecessary features?

Excellent for music. How much did you pay for something you were going to use for just music, and a host of features like video playback, wifi, and apps go unused? Was the extra 100 or 200 dollars for those features worth it? was it? WAS IT???!!!! This device is simple and worth it. Scratches a lot though so buy some 3 dollar case.

Im back. some one threw the one i just bought out by accident, and I bought it again.
