Great for value

I mainly got this macbook because I needed one for my iOS programming class, and did not want to be on campus in the computer lab always doing apps on the iMacs. When I received my macbook I was surprised that it performed so well to be a 2007 model macbook! The boot speed is quick, literally not much lag time at all pulling up programs or surfing the web. The only thing I would complain about is the battery life, seems to only hold a charge for about close to 2 hrs. However, 2 hrs on a battery without running to grab a charger is still great. Despite a few shortcomings, this version of macbook can still hold up with competitors in 2014.Lire l'avis complet...

Used MacBook (early 2007 model)

Used MacBooks are often attractively priced, because Apple releases new models every few months. This model was no exception. It's compact, fast enough, and provides a decent mid-level entry point into the Mac Intel based products that have now become the Apple norm. Portability is a plus, both inside the house (roaming room to room) and for occasional travel, although battery life in a used laptop is often limited. The built-in camera is also a plus. In a couple of years, I'll likely upgrade again, to a newer (but still used) model.Lire l'avis complet...

Good Used Product

I was looking for a good entry level laptop for my girlfriend. She is an aspiring photographer, so she uses Aperture and iPhoto. I have a Mac Mini I use as an office / media machine that holds all her photo archives. As a result, hard drive space wasn't super crucial. This was a good product for the price ($550 Shipped). I did have to buy another 2GB of RAM ($100) and upgrade to Snow Leopard ($30). All in all, we've still got a good machine for less than the $999 starting point for new MacBooks.Lire l'avis complet...

I would definitely buy a Mac again!

Up-side: love my new MacBook! Works great! After years of using a PC, I found it very easy to use! I love the keyboard. I find it also starts up quickly and doesn't crash as often as Windows. It has a very user-friendly desktop and it is quite easy to find the programs that I want to use.

Down-side: It gets very hot when in use, so I had to buy a cooling stand for it, but was able to find a moderately priced one. Also, there are no USB ports on the right side of the computer so, I bought a wireless mouse to use with it. I did find that I had to put current Mac OX software on it in order to use Office and iLife but found that the software was very reasonable priced.

Nice little laptop. Snow Leopard is a good OS.

I'm a PC guy. In fact, this is the first iAnything I've dealt with in over a decade. Naturally, I had trouble navigating around the Mac OS, but let me say this. I wouldn't even think of running a Core 2 Duo PC laptop (Vista or Win 7) on only 1 gig of RAM, but Snow Leopard ran great on only 1 gig. That impressed me. Am I going to go over to the "Dark Side"? No, but my deep hatred for all things Apple has eased a little bit.Lire l'avis complet...

an awesome computer!!

I love this macbook! This was my first mac after my windows computer crashed and I have to say I love this thing! It's easy to use and has a nice sleek look to it. One thing that was great about it was that if you had a hard drive crash or wanted to upgrade your RAM, all you have to do is take out the battery and remove 3 screws and you have complete access to everything! If you can find one of these on ebay with new software installed I definitely recommend buying one.Lire l'avis complet...

History Changing LapTop

These white and black MacBooks changed the way that people not only shop for a macbook, but the way that they use them. The MacBook is simply the best design out there and the easiest to use. The 13" screen is probably the absolutely best size screen you can buy, anything bigger your laptop becomes a desktop and is difficult to transport. The black and white finish look very clean coupled with the smooth rounded edges. I hate when the battery on laptops protrude, well I hate it when anything on a laptop protruded. THe whole idea of a laptop is convenience when you are on the go. It should be small, yet not to small that you have to squint and type with 1 finger, it should be able to fit in anything without getting snagged, and most of all it should be light. Further more everyone needs software that they can understand and navigate with ease. Apple's Mac OS X is phenomenal. It is sooooo easy to use, and the is very very nice to look at.Lire l'avis complet...

Good all-around laptop has features no longer available

Apple seems to be stripping down its entire line of computers; not a good thing. The current plastic "unibody" MacBook is a good example: Apple has eliminated the FireWire port, audio input port, and has given it a non-removable battery. The unibody MacBook also requires opening the entire computer to gain access to its RAM slots and hard drive.

This MacBook, the one I am reviewing, represents the pre-unibody MacBook, or "classic" model MacBook. It has FireWire and it has the easy-to-upgrade RAM and hard drive as well as a removable battery. In the entire history of Apple laptops, the original MacBook laptop design is the only laptop Apple has ever sold that, by removing just one bracket with 3 screws, the user has immediate access to the computer's RAM and hard drive. The original MacBook went through two major revisions, the older Intel Duo Core processor and the more powerful Intel Duo 2 Core processor. A classic design MacBook with an Intel Duo 2 Core processor is a superior laptop choice to the current unibody MacBook offering. If you can find one in good condition, I highly recommend buying one.

Smaller BUT Mightier

The 2.2GHz Dual Core MacBook is amazing. I was torn between a dual core PC-based laptop (comparably priced both on Ebay and others) or the MacBook. The MacBook Air and MacBook Pro were out of my range, so I resolved to get a PC when this rolled around. The processing speed for the Internet is as fast as the Desktop (which is limited by the rendering engine of the computer and the speed of your connection), so no problems there.
Since we were considering iPhone(s)(No Androids or Droids just yet), we decided to go for a MacBook to provide a seamless experience between all the Apple products (and the iTunes store and the Apple App store). We had been running two 32G iPod Touches on the PCs, and didn't really see any difference at the time. WHEN WE HOOKED THEM UP to the MacBook, it was amazing to see how everything synched by itself, making it an immediate impact upon us.
BUy a Macbook.

I love this model and have several!

Very good laptop considering it age, you can upgrade the RAM and Hard Drive yourself with little know how and a YouTube video. I have several of them.
