Most excellent quality for an old monitor. No dead pixels, good brightness, no scratches, or dings. Screen had a few sticky spots, easily cleaned with cloth and water. A great addition to my mac mini setup. All used, but looks mint. Happy!!Lire l'avis complet...

Apple quality is exhibited in every detail of this monitor.
I have owned this 23" Cinema Display since 2006 and it still operates as if it were new. The sharpness, detail and color rendition are the best I have seen in a monitor of this size. This monitor uses a DVI video interface and typically requires an adaptor to function with more modern computers. It works successfully with a DVI to HDMI adaptor connected to 2018 vintage Mac Mini computers, but with limited resolution of 1920 x 1080. It will work at full optimal resolution (1920 x 1200) with a DVI to Thunderbolt 3 adaptor. The mechanical design allows for effortless adjustment of viewing angle. At 15.5 lbs, the unit exhibits excellent stability and is unaffected by minor shakes and vibrations of the environment. It has built-in firewire and USB 2.0 hubs with 2 ports each. The external power brick draws 90W.

23" HD Apple Cinema Display
Having owned several monitors for professional photography and digital imaging for 12 years; from various high end CRT's from Sony and Lacie, and worked with clients on their Dell, HP, and other Apple LCD monitors, I have to say this one is exceptional. Apple has always worked to bring the best quality of true power, stability, accuracy and longevity, not to mention style to all of their products. This 23" monitor is no exception. Working in professional photography which is heavyly driven by digital technlogy, true accurate and stable color is a must for a monitor. This version of display features a very stable TFT screen and brighter and slightly higher contrast than the previous version of ACD. Granted, it is not as 'bright' or 'saturated' as other displays from Dell or HP, but this goes to Apple's ability to reproduce colors AND contrast in imagery accurately and consistantly. Again, for professional photographers, film makers, and the creative arts depend on this true accuracy for not only editing, but output. There is some lacking with inputs for the display, with only two USBII and two FireWire 400 on the screen, with no memory card reader built in. There are also possible issues with PC users that require an analogue input. The DVI connector is digital only, which is usually not an issue. The power source is now seperated from the cable that was present in the ADC connector of older LCD screens, which nakes more cables for power, Firewire, and USB, but is more stable and takes a power load off the mother board. As far as looks go, it's one of the best looking things to just sit there on my desk. Again, Apple goes through great efforts to design an highly functioning machine, and this design is great. It is a sealed unit, keeping dirt and dust from attaching to the interior parts, reducing heat and long term care. It has a good viewing angle of 170 degrees, but unfortunatly is only able to tilt up and down. There is no ability to rasie or lower, or turn, which is a bit of a limiter for tall people. There have been reported problems with color shifts and accuracy in these units, (23"), so be aware of the year and producting time of the screen. Calibration is in my opinion a must regardless of screen, but several 23" ACD owners have ccomplained about magenta/red shifts in the screen, even after calibrating. Other than that, it is dead on in color and contrast reproduction. Movies are a joy to watch with it's sharp colors and bright screen, but be aware that blacks on this screen are not dense blacks, making it seem not as saturated as the Dell or Samsung. The best thing about this screen aside from color, accuracy, style, inputs and size, is it's ruggedness. It is rumored that Steve Jobs will throw, drop, kick and knowck over any Apple product; pick it up, restart it and if it works, it goes into production. Well.......I knocked my NEW 23" ACD off my desk one day. It did a great Greg Luganis type back flip off the desk, flipped, and landed on it's face on a concrete floor. Needless to say after wheeping openly for a few seconds, I said a prayer to Mr. Jobs and picked it up, plugged it back in, re-booted and low and behold, it was fine! That alone sold me all over again. Is it expensive compared to others? Yes. Can I get a screen with more inputs and more resolutions? Yes. Can I get one that pivots and raises and lowers? Yes. Apple M9178LL/A 23 inch LCD TFT Monitor
I love this display. I love the newer one even more but besides not wanting to pay retail for it, there are some additional technical hurdles with the new interface design.
I wanted a second monitor for my Map Pro system and I debated between buying a cheaper new Dell 23" or a used Apple 23" Cinema Display. I already have 1 Apple Cinema 23" display. There is about a $200 - $300 dollar difference between the new Dell and the used Apple. IMHO, it is worth every cent to go with the Apple display. This is strictly a subjective viewpoint, but I have to say that if you have to spend a lot of time in front of a monitor as I do, the Apple Cinema Display is your friend because it is easy to view, your eyes will not get tired and the graphic representation for pictures and video is the best in the industry. I work with Dells at work and although they allow me to do my job, I just do not have the same experience at all. It was actually easy for me to spend the extra 200 bucks for the quality built into the Apple display.Lire l'avis complet...
Still relevant in 2016!
Great colors and picture with a matte NON-glare panel! Timeless design and look. Make sure you check the production date with the serial number as many early models suffer from the famous pink hue problem. Also if you want to Vesa mount the display, the adapter is different from the current models and more expensive. Great picture, beautiful color saturation.
It's a really nice monitor, side by side comparison with my LG ultawide I can see it's brighter and has better color saturation.

These monitors cannot be used with mac minis, shipping was fast and it's a nice size monitor,go to the apple web site to find out the requirements before you buy it.

These are very good to use if you can still find one in like-new condition.
I bought the product used because I couldn't afford these when they were new. The reason for buying this instead of newer Apple or other brand screens is because it still has the no-glare surface and high quality display for working with photos or other graphics. I find it hard to tolerate screen reflections and therefore intensely dislike most if not all of the newer "shiny" screens. The color quality of the 23" Apple Cinema Display is very good and the non-glare quality is excellent. There is nothing to dislike, but you do have to take great care to avoid fingerprints, etc. because safely cleaning a non-glare surface isn't easy. If I ever get to where I can afford one, I might upgrade to one of the high-end graphics arts monitors of a different brand some day, but these are very excellent in the meantime. Still A Good Option
Unless you have a true need for a newer thunderbolt model or higher resolution. This is a great monitor even in 2018. Picture is sharp and it’s even good for non commercial video and/or photography work.Lire l'avis complet...
