Old but still good

I had 2 requirements for a new router:

1) Fast enough to avoid becoming the bottleneck in my home network (my cable modem connection is 300 Mbps so that is the bar it had to beat)
2) Not look ridiculous sitting in the open in my living room

That second criteria ruled out most new routers except for the expensive mesh ones. I didn't need the mesh features since my space is pretty small but most of the mesh routers still cost $100-150.

This 6th Gen AirPort Extreme was less than half the price of the new alternatives and it met both of my criteria.

My only complaint with Apple wifi routers is that they cannot be configured via a web browser like most other wifi routers. Lire l'avis complet...

Great Value - Crushes modern MESH systems, if you can Cat5-Eth backhaul.

Highly reliable, and flawless wireless networking. There aren't many features, but if you are heavily apple-ecosystem, these routers/access points are great for "good enough" wireless networks. My house has 4 of them, setup with ethernet backhaul, to create one single WIFI network. transition between devices is flawless, even with wifi calling and video chat sessions actively flowing data. Overall I’m satisfied. It’s fast enough for my purposes

At first products amber light stayed on, indicating over heating In software utility. The fix is to turn off sharing option in airport utility app. Now green light stays on and unit works fine.

This one replaced another one I had that finally died. I don't think Apple makes them anymore. Personally, I am very pleased with this one. Works great!

Older but highly reliable router

Good condition and works great. Had some issues at first getting it to work but I think that was more of an issue on spectrums side.

Still worth a look

It's old, but if you have a Mac, Apple still updates the Airport Utility so that it's super easy to set up. Can do mesh as well. Great value.

This is one of Apple's greatest products. It's a great find second hand at a lower price.

Easy set up, product as described

I’m very happy with this Apple router and would suggest to anyone who needs at this time, not the newest latest and greatest, but a perfectly fine newer router like myself to replace a failing one.
