A true gem, if you can stomach it
I bought this book in order to have more material for cut-up technique writing projects (think Naked Lunch). I wasn't disappointed, but instead was greatly thrilled with the book. It's an overview of many strange, poignant, scary, wacky, disgusting, and/or downright visionary commentary and symptoms of the current problems with society and the human condition. With subjects ranging from limiting TV in American households to historic accounts of various cults (from the benign to the horrifying), to articles by necrophiles and worse to visionary works discussing body play, this book is truly a spectrum of everything humanity's fringe groups here in Western society have to offer.Lire l'avis complet...
A misanthropic bible for the disillusioned.
In this series of essays, we're faced with the words of an entire subculture of misanthropes and disillusioned children - some of the themes in it will make you cringe, others will make you snicker, others will make you question the existence of intelligent life on this planet, but all of them leave a lasting impression on you. Definitely a book that gives you something you can chew on.Lire l'avis complet...
