Adore author 'n particular book- arrived in great shape

I had borrowed book from library and renewed it, having read entire Anita
Blake series. This book was very pivotal re character and plot development. I bought it because I wanted to thoroughly understand complexity of relationships
between Anita's growing "powers", her ties to Jean- Claude, Damian and Nathaniel.
I find the situation of being a new "triumverate" fascinating, especially
since the characters themselves are confused about their unique, unexpected situation.
Of course, all the eroticism is very entertaining as well. I particularly like
Anita's tender scenes with Jean-Claude, Nathaniel and Richard. Her internal
"moralizing" dialogue keeps a certain balance with reality.

very very bad

Worst in a series that was going downhill after about 6 books (Oh wait, "the slap in face if you paid money for it Micah was worse") Repetitive, un-edited, etc. If I never have to read a variation of "so dark it was hard to see where one ended and the other began" again, I will die happy. Anita no longer has any redeeming qualities yet all males who encounter her want her and she will take them on (I don't sleep with strangers!). Introduction of new characters strictly for boinking purposes? And before the sycophants say I am just jealous, uptight, closed minded or whatever, just remember that I am entitled to my opinion. I am tired of writers who take advantage of loyal readers by churning out swill. Somewhere in here there was a plot other than Anita getting herself and others f#@ked over into yet greater power...something to do with hookers being killed by vampires but it was lost in the overpowering crap.Lire l'avis complet...

I don't remember there being many dreams, but it works

This is a book for the Nathaniel lovers. Anita finally takes that final step to including Nathaniel in her entourage. The vampire politics included in this book are pretty gripping. I really liked the plot, but this is at that part in the series where Laurell Hamilton has stepped away from a mainly mystery plotline, to the more relationship/character building plotline.Lire l'avis complet...

Incubus Dreams by Laurell K. Hamilton (2005)

Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake series is a favorite of mine and I look forward to reading a new book of this series when it comes out. I hope she keeps up the good work her writing is excellent.
