Entertaining, good for different ages, social lessons

As a child therapist, I have often found the Elephant and Piggy books to be a good addition to my waiting room. They are funny characters and not as boring for parents to read to little ones than some books. Social and friendship values are explored in a curious, respectful and accepting way. The characters are very different from each other but like and appreciate each other, flaws included. The books are written with simple words, lending themselves to older beginning readers.
