This is a good title and will provide several hours of entertainment.

Had to install an automatic update to allow the game to resume from pause mode after a saved game load.

This is not your Uncle Disney's Alice in Wonderland. With music that makes you dare yourself to turn the lights off and truly horrific creatures of a deranged mind, American McGee's Alice does take you to another place, a place where things have gone terribly wrong.

So, with that in place, also understand that this is a PC game from 2000. 12 years ago it was well received for its graphics, scenery and eeriness. When compared with its sequel, this game can be very limited only by the technology involved. The gameplay however can be delightful and challenging. American McGee's Alice Prima's Official Strategy Guide

Didn't give much back-story information about the game, but did have a good first chapter about all of the characters and shed light on a couple of things that in the eight years that I've played and Loved and OBSESSED about the game I didn't know, so that's a great thing. The walkthrough is basic and informative, but the actual book is in all black and white which isn't too great for being able to follow picture instructions, and the pixtures and text seemed somewhat squished together because the pages aren't wide enough, and it can be distracting, but for American McGee's Alice fans, it's definately a Guide that you want in your collection!!!Lire l'avis complet...

It's good

Fantastic game. I mean it was a bit lackluster in some of the acting and a bit of the emotions fell flat, but overall it's a good game. Sure, I can't really blame the old 3-D graphics but what do you do, that's all they had at the time. So, yes, I recommend playing it to get a feel for back story if you get confused in the sequel "Madness Returns." That's why I played this one first, so that when I get the sequel, I won't be lost or confused on a few plot points if that occurs.Lire l'avis complet...

American McGee 's ALICE

Had this game, I'm guessing 2008, saw it advertised, at a game site online. Loved the graphics, raved about it so much my Son , gave it to me on my Birthday many years ago, I just never finished the game, I lost the CD's 2010, have a copy on all my old Hard Drives, that don't work as well, so I purchased ALICE again. I love the game rhe people who put the game together did a great job. I decided to buy it since the price was sooooo much less then the $50.00 + when it first came out. I won't pay that price for any game, and it's not that I can't afford it. I can find other stuff I'd rather spend $50+ on.

The Quintessential Twisted and Fun One

I had once seen American McGee's Alice in a Wal-Mart for ten dollars and, being a broke college student, passed it over. Since then, I have had to scour to scour the Internet to find a copy less than thirty dollars.

Learn from me, and don't pass Alice by.

Taking the world of Alice and Wonderland, and twisting it terribly for the fractured mind of a slightly different Alice, the game is gorgeously awful. It's built on the Quake model, and so quite stable for a PC game of its age; and the graphics, while not demanding, are vivid and perfect for the realm. The story of Alice follows Alice herself as she tries to recapture her shattered mental state following the horrifying death of her family in a fire.

Weapons used throughout the game are entertaining to play with, and only marginally frustrating. As a survival-horror game, though, the goal is generally to run AWAY from the monsters. Replayability is in Alice's several levels of difficulty, the likelihood that the player missed several fun-to-play with items, and sheer desire to see That Thing (whatever That Thing was) again.

Some key visual elements are the stretched and twisted Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter's half-mechanized torture victims, and the White Queen's chess field.

For goths, for creeps, for gamers, for Alice aficionados... I love American McGee's Alice. Play it, buy it: it's worth it.Lire l'avis complet...

Hi everyone!

So, at first I didn't know about this game but I knew about its sequel Madness Returns. I wondered if there was a prequel so I did a little research and found this game which gives a whole new meaning to the word "EPIC". I downloaded the first game and I was amazed, this is a f***ing masterpiece and asked myself why didn't I know about this. The answer is that I was 7 years old when this game came out (2000), now I am 19. After becoming a hardcore fan of this game, I decided to get an original one. I searched and searched but I didn't find anything in my own country so I ended up on ebay and finally I was able to buy a second-hand one which is in a very good condition. American McGee is a genius, twisting the original Alice story was a great idea, the game is very dark and emotional with a great story and the music is just awesome. Despite its age, the graphics is really nice and unique. About the controls, well, I didn't find it difficult, you must get used to it and everything will be fine. If you want challenge choose the "Nightmare" difficulty. This game is a perfect example that back then there were more quality games. Great Product

Great product. It came in the original boxset which was in really good condition. The game works really well too. No scratches on the disc. I am very pleased with my purchase.

love this game

i bought a copy of this back when it first came out, but i lost pieces and it stopped working, etc. finding this again made my day, i love this game and i'm so glad it was the whole set
