Its still a fun game if you can get past the bugs.

I love survival horror and I really wanted to like the game, which I did to an extent but the cons were more than I wanted in a survival horror game. I liked its concept, using the map, getting keys, solving puzzles. And the graphics are not bad for a ps1 game in my opinion. I didn't like that the game gave you no hints on where the keys went. You found a key and basically had to try every door. I was guessing on every key and mostly every puzzle and when it did give hints they were very vague. Also my game glitched on the boss I am currently fighting. The boss disappeared and left the boss music running with nothing to defeat so i cant progress. That is another thing it has a few bugs, which I haven't experienced with my other horror games.Lire l'avis complet...

I Enjoyed It...VERY creepy game.

There are two Characters that you control, Edward and Aline, as soon as they land on the island after a mysterious plane crash, you can choose which character you want to be. There are two disks in the CD case.

They discover an Indian Mansion and uh, something's seriously wrong with it. some of the enemies are zombie-LIKE creatures, you have spiders, dogs and other big boss creatures. the thing is, i think some enemies will just randomly pop out of nowhere. there was one time i was in the hall, i turned around to go the other way, but i changed my mind and turned around, then BAM, a zombie was right in front of me. so i think they just appear.

When you finish the game, thats it, there really isnt any goodies at the end that i know of, you just start all over.

but yea, its a pretty good game, the trick is to try NOT to RUN into your enemies, they can trick you sometimes.Lire l'avis complet...

alone in the dark:the new nightmare/ps 1&2

this game is actually quite good for a ps1. it has a story line that plays through the course of the game. u can pick which character you wish to be;aline or edward carnby.so you actually play it twice but as 2 seperate people with 2 different set ups.the graphics are quite good and the game is definately challenging.it has taken me several hours just to make it through 3/4 of aline's character. you can buy or download an e-book to guide you through the game(a must for even good gamers!)i would definatly recomend this game for those who like a challenge and mystery type games!Lire l'avis complet...

An alright fright.

This game was a good entry into the Alone in the Dark series, however after having played Resident Evil and so many other survival horror games I have to say that this game has flaws. It is very repeditive and teh enemies are very hard near the beginning of the game, especially with the lack of ammo and the need to use up most of it on a single monster. Without the gameshark cheat device some gamers may have trouble navigating through the game, and will find this so frustrating that they may be turned off of the game. This is a shame as it has a great story and is definitely worth checking out.Lire l'avis complet...

My favorite game of all time so far....

This game was the first I ever played- and let me tell you- pretty creepy! The graphics are outdated of course talking now, but the story and sounds and what you have to go through in the game is TOTALLY worth it!! I'm not kidding- this game will creep you out and you'll love it! You won't be able to get enough!

Another great thing about this game is that you get to play it TWICE- but it's NOT the same story! You play through two different characters eyes, and each deals with separate issues on their own! It's really a treat I think, and one of the best games out there!

A great underrated game for the PSx.

Great game, one of my all time favorites on the PSx. As with any PSx game the graphics are showing their age, but honestly, as an avid collector of Playstation games, this is truly an underrated masterpiece, it is the top of it's game as a survival horror/mystery game, and provides scary atmospheres, visuals, creatures, with a delightful, intuitive game play, masterful musical score, and great story line, this game is a must have for PSx collectors.Lire l'avis complet...
