Biased

I have a somewhat biased opinion on this game, See for me, I'm all about the story, NOT necessarily the graphics, which btw, for the 360, are just great. The story, for me, was good too. And of course to have Michaele Biehn reprise his character added even more value. But again, I am an alien fan and I personally like not only this title but also AvP and to be the best is Alien isolation. The game play in this one is great, in fact, I'd say it has equal controls as CoD and there's no sloppiness in the control system. I have a sealed copy of this, Alien Isolation and AvP. What a cool game!

I don't know why it gets a bad rep, this game is pretty cool. I'd give it a full five stars except for two things: One, I'm 2nd player and all the pointers are given to the 1st player only so I miss out during action. Two, the terrible language. The game allows you to become one of the marines and, yes, you have to kill aliens while completing your missions. But there are rogue groups of marines you take on as well. So, about the time you start to feel this is becoming repetitious shooting either the aliens or the bad guy soldiers, it switches in the next chapter. You can choose your difficulty which helps while you learn controls. But as far as people who have reviewed this saying it's the same thing over and over... What were they playing? It has its own story line and the surroundings change with each scene. The objective of kill or be killed is the only thing here to be called repetitious but... duh.Lire l'avis complet...

Fun for the Alien-story lover! A good value.

Decent graphicsfor the age of this game, although overall the environments are very dark. For example, the interior of the colony buildings is so dark, and the flashlight provided to the marines is so small and dim, it makes it difficult to see anything, including aliens, which are almost black. Here's a tip - use LOTS of flares. They don't last long, but they'll let you see what actually is out there, and moving. The motion tracker is a useful tool. The pulse rifle is definitely the weapon to use. The pistol is nice, but doesn't deliver enough rounds to be effective when a hoard approaches. Use the grenades, they do work! The sound effects and music make you feel like you're in the actual movie; very accurate. This is a pretty basic game, but still fun, if you like the Alien brand and genre. Try Aliens Vs. Predator, for a next-level jump in the Alien storyline in gaming; very, very good, with much better graphics quality.Lire l'avis complet...

WAR FIGHTER

This was a great game with new weapons. I also enjoyed headshot icons that would pop up red or white due accuracy, one shot one kill. There was a part as a sniper that was amazing due to the distance of the shot I had to make adjustments. It's worth playing at least once! I'm buying it.

This game does have flaws. My biggest pet peeve is the story line. They blew up the location on LV 426....so why is the building still standing but a little messed up? Aliens are still running around in hardcore force? I said, "WTF?" OH yeah....and O'neal is a retard. Anyway, besides the drawbacks...if you are a HARDCORE ALIENS fan...then give this game a try! Rent it or do what I did and get it from Gamefly first. DO NOT BUY THIS AT THE RETAIL PRICE! with all that being said...I LIKE THIS GAME. I'm bidding on one right now as I'm writing this! Probably Just for Fans

I'm a huge fan of the Alien series, so I just had to buy this game, even after reading crappy reviews online about GearBox and all that stuff. The graphics are pretty good, but the whole "plays like other first person shooter" thing really hurts my rating for this game. It's kind of a turn off for me, since I'm not really a fan of fast-pace shooter games where you just shoot the crap out of everything in a 360 radius. I like more immersive game-play, but being a fan, I'm going to keep this game. I believe this game had some DLC stuff as well as being featured in the Xbox Avatar Store in Game Styles. I ended up buying some things for my avatar. I probably wouldn't recommend this game to anyone unfamiliar with Alien or new to fast-pace shooter games. Why Purchased?: Needed a game to play that would give some fun gameplay

Like: The graphics are smoother than expected. The graphics look different on screen in actual gameplay.(Watching on websites like youtube on 1080HD will not show gamers the graphics). The gameplay is smooth, and controls are very easy to learn both online and single player. Weapons and the Aliens "Xenomorphs" are fun to play and can be customized to anyones like.

Dislike: Gameplay may feel short lived

More detail: This game as gotten a lot of negative feedback and it does show. In my personal opinion this game hits a $30 limit with success, but is fun non the less. There are 5 Xenomorph classes to play as in multiplayer(2 are hidden, Boiler and Crusher). Rent this before buying or buy used. Game not worth $60s new.

I bought this product because I'm a fan of Ridley Scott's Alien Anthology + Prometheus. This takes place after the events on LV-426. My solo playthrough on Hardened difficulty, took me approx 8-9 hours. I enjoyed the sound of the pulse rifle, some scenery locations and many Easter Eggs. However, I encountered annoying bugs:

(1) The way the friendly AI move, there inconsistent. Sometimes I appreciate O'Neil running ahead of me to clear out xeno's. Other times, I hate it when he gets stuck on the corner walls or taking a long time killing xeno/Weyland mercenaries with his M56 Smartgun. That shouldn't take no more than seconds to mow them down.

(2) There were 2 instances where Xeno's should of jump down and attack me but didn't. I could hear the noises and see them on the motion tracker beeping. But the game forgot to load them in. Even if you restart, no fix.

Video/Graphics: Shoddy, low-res textures and facial animations look poorly done. Multiplayer: Can't say, haven't tried it. Almost forgot, once you beat the game. You can choose level select. Incase you want to go back and collect dog tags or audio logs. Also achievement difficulty stacks.Lire l'avis complet...

Big win

I don't get all the poor reviews of this game. Of course it's for fans of the franchise and of course it's a first person shooter... There's only so much it can do. Game play

It worked just fine on my xbox. Enjoyed it as an aliens fan. Was also very immersive with the story line. I wish the shooting mechanics were a bit more polished though but it was fine and fun.
