Great product if you get a deal

I already had the MPC Live, decided to purchase the upgrade. At full price, it is a hard pill to swallow, but if you can land a good deal, its a great pick-up. Work-flow is similar to the MPC Live, but with several changes that affect how easy it is to navigate around to what you want. I miss being able to "click" in a selection using the big dial, but the navigation with the directional pad is leagues better, especially when building out a drumrack. I am not personally using the expanded I/O, at least for now, but I am aware of the value it can bring to the table in most setups, its just unnecessary for mine as I am running everything through a Focusrite 18i20, into my computer and not using the MPC X as a standalone device (I have the Live still, for that).Lire l'avis complet...

If you know, you know

Coming from the MPC 5K which is an amazing MPC (after the update) I craved for something with a little more ease of use and some futuristic features. If you know MPC’s then you will quickly navigate through the basics. There are many changes to the workflow and a quick read through the MPC Bible will guide you to the new way of doing things. There are some new features which seem a bit unpolished and can be extremely frustrating but some updates based on user feedback should clear those things up. Akai (unlike other companies) does respond to user feedback. The pads feel great. Although you must adjust the sensors to your liking. The note repeat sustain can throw you off as it stays on until you turn it off (easily done) this can lead to the perception of lag as you jump to a different sample. Basic stuff I know but I’m sure it will help someone. Midi is frustrating as is. Asigning pads to a slave device is a pain and although I have tried to save the settings I end up having to reprogram everything. The whole procedure to asign the pads on midi notes needs way more work. Maybe I’m missing a shortcut? Seems unpolished. And with multiple midi devices this could get old real fast. The touch screen is great, however in the piano roll going back and forth with the drawing tool and the screen zoom tool is somewhat cumbersome. Ok other than that. MPC X is great. No issues; saving projects, renaming projects, creating new projects, creating templates, importing samples, the q links are just amazing, especially on plug ins. I’ve had this thing for close to 2 weeks so I’m still learning the workflow. Sampling is quick and easy and just pain free as you would expect. I wish it had a battery too but I found a work around. The sound quality is tops, as expected. It is a full on audio interface. I have not messed with the software side of it other than to download and install the 30+GB of material they give you for free. Which I highly reccomend because I think this ends up in the X for use on stand alone mode. I may be wrong but I doubt it. Get you one if you have the scratch and make the music man! Shout out to all those at home trying to make a hit! Lire l'avis complet...

Akai the best Mpc x the best, Birdbrain music the best

akai and bird brain music both stick behind Theur products and your purchases . The q links are lit up and very visable in any lighting and make it the easiest mpc of all to use, no more shift key for anything ultra fast work flow. large lcd touch screen the best very responsive and great when tweaking effects in realtime and programming automation.Lire l'avis complet...

Its huge and is also an investment

Dont panic...When you hook it up to the computer you're going to lose sounds during the set up stage. Afterwards it's all good in the neighborhood

Price points!

If your on a smaller budget I would get the Mpc one. But if your Tryna go all the way in, then the Mpc x separates the boys from the men when it comes to your craft.

MPC X is king

You can not do better! I’ve had every MPC you can think of. From the 1000 to the 5000. It is the only industry standard.
