If you're looking for an First Smartphone or simple smartphone this it!

The Avail is a great phone with only two major issues that I personally have with it. Well 3. I bought it as an entry level smartphone and I needed a prepaid smartphone. It's excellent for the price. It's very very easy to use, especially if you never used a smartphone before. Easy to navigate, personalize, and such...

My cons... Battery life is HORRIBLE. sometimes I charge it twice a day and I've only had it a few weeks... I don't surf the net, text, or talk nearly as much as the average person so I suggest buying the biggest battery you can for it after purchase. I bought one off eBay a few days after and it's on it's way from China. Hopefully that will fix the battery down side.

I HATE, and I say HATE because I truly do... hate the way they LOADED the phone with bloatware and not only can't you MOVE it to your SD card you can even delete the pre installed apps. this is a MAJOR down side if you ask me because it leads to issue number 3...

VERY low phone internal memory... VERY low. It's absolutely frustrating how low it is. It would help if you could MOVE the bloatware to your SD card at least... But of course not!

Also be prepared with a memory card if you don't have one because you can't do anything on the phone without it... Take pictures, video, or download any new apps without one...

I did give the phone 4 stars however because I love it really. Despite the poor battery and bloatware clogging up space it really does do it's gig. The screen is larger than my Wife's Samsung Galaxy II Appeal (well wider, as opposed to longer) and I like that. Touch screen is very responsive. Speaker phone is the BEST of ANY cell phone I've ever owned. Calls sound good volume wise...

Good value

I bought this phone because I was surprised to find all the features I wanted, including GPS for $80. If you're buying it to use on Straight Talk, see the 2 previous posts about the problem with the AT&T APNs being retained. It is quite annoying, but there is a solution for that problem. Install an APP called 'APN Backup & Restore' and you can delete all your APNs. Then you'll have to re enter your Straight Talk APN. It solved that annoying problem for me. It was almost making the phone unusable. That's the reason it got only 4 stars for ease of use. I've always had a problem with touch screens, but this one feels natural to me. The low score for battery life may be because a defective battery rather than the phone. The usage monitor shows battery life dropping slowly to about70%, then looking like it dropped off a cliff. I've ordered a new battery off eBay for $6.45 - hope that solves that. Overall a good value that I've recommended to others.Lire l'avis complet...

Wonderful Phone for the money ...

I early purchased a so called heavy duty flip phone for my husband. Needless to say he is hard on a phone. The so called heavy duty one lasted all of 30 days. Plus he is not up on teck. This Avail phone is the best and no complaining out of him... only fall back no flash to the camera but thats fine. It seams easy for him to learn and no more in cost the the deductible of a replacement if you had insurance. Small be he does not use the internet yet this will all come in time and a wonderful one to learn with.. love it and he does as well...Lire l'avis complet...

My experience is great, despite the poor memory without a memory card.

I am happy with the phone, although i didn't win it. I purchased it on January 15,2013. I don't know why my site says i won an Avail and I purchased it on the 23rd of this month, but i'll still review it. Like i said i am very happy with the phone. It was a replacement for the Fusion 2 that had a very short lifespan due to being dropped without a protective case/cover. The Avail is an Android phone so it will do just about anything you want it to, unless you want to start downloading then you run into a problem. In order to download any music, application, or even take a picture with the very great camera this phone has, you will need to purchase a memory card. I purchased a 32 megabyte Micro SD-HC memory card from eBay for $20.00 and that will be more than enough I'm sure. Do Not buy your memory card from an AT&T store or WalMart or any other store because you will pay upwards of $30.00 for the smallest memory card, being a 2 megabyte. With that being said the Avail will suit just about anybody.Lire l'avis complet...

Good Phone, Nice Price....You Get quite a bit out of what you pay!

This has a wonderful camera....I was so surprised that even without flash it took such clear, crisp pictures. It was very easy to use, the o.s. was basic and easy to manage. It didn't lag very much. The only thing I didn't love about this phone was the amount of internal memory...and if you use Android then you know that it is a serious limitation on the number of apps and such you can have on your phone.Lire l'avis complet...

Unleash yourself from the 2 year contract sentence!

Unleash yourself from the 2 year contract sentence and start saving $$$ Go prepaid!!

This phone will not provide internet through AT&T's Go Phone prepaid service, though the advertisements from AT&T convincingly suggest otherwise. The fine print excludes all smart phones. Instead, get an AT&T $14.95 sim card from Straight Talk, together with a $45.00 prepaid card.Call Straight Talk or use their on-line "bring your own phone" link and port your old phone number. Within minutes we were all hooked up and working. Sign up for the auto-prepay option and you have all the benefits of a 2 year contract without being locked in.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent choice for basic use and better than average camera.

The AT&T Avail ZTE Z990 smartphone was a good choice choice for an entry level smartphone. This is not a phone which can be unlocked very easily and AT&T defaults are not friendly when considering another sevice provider as well. It is probably not the best choice for internet usage due to the slow speeds, based on my experience. So far the phone provides the basics needed.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellt phone for the money and great call quality with top features.

This phone was a Christnas gift 1 year ago.

I have read that this is an entry level smart phone as well as a mid-level smart phone. But either way, it fits my needs. It has excellent call quality, fits well in the hand and battery life is good. The key to battery life is to put it in sleep mode when not in use and to disable the wi-fi.

Yes storage could be better but a new memory card is cheap if needed. I am still using the original one and have plenty of apps and photos on the card.

The screen is big enough and I believe it is as big or bigger than an I-Phone. My only complaint is the lack of a user facing camera and a camera flash.

The apps that come with the phone are many and plenty.

The phone is very intuitive and really does not require use of the manual.

For the price, I really think it is a great deal. I mean... wi-fi, 3G, voice to text, GPS, video, alarm, productivity apps built in.... you really can't go wrong for the price.

I hope I can find a solution to the AT&T APN lockdown.

Nice entry level smartphone. The price is right (I paid $48 a piece, buy-it-now on Ebay, for three for my family). We use Straight Talk and setup was easy both at the phone level and the provider level. It's Android, that's good. Screen is bright. Touch response is good. With cellphone service the GPS works respectably. It's easy to use without complicated controls. Downside, the internal memory is ridiculously small. But, the worst flaw, if you get an AT&T phone, is that you cannot delete the firmware Access Point Names (APN). You can add a new one, no problem, and choose it, but the phone keeps wanting to revert back to the default (and now non-functional) APN. Obviously AT&T is a ass for doing this, but there it is.Lire l'avis complet...

Great phone except for memory not worth the money, unable to use!

Was a great phone loved it but the memory was terrible stated low memory and I had a 16g memory card I deleted everything and it still had low memory so I couldn't use the phone. I couldn't even have two applications without it saying low memory so the phone was useless to me couldn't give to my mom because it was a smartphone which you have to have a data plan so it's just sitting collecting dust.Lire l'avis complet...
