If you are not trying to run an insane high speed NAS (and even then) this router still is a great value in performance in spite of all the latest routers from other vendors. A simple search of the Internet will show you that this router is very high performance on the 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz bands. I run two NAS drives, one a 1GB RAID 10 and the other a 3GB media drive, and the performance is more than adequate. The product works like a dream. I do some very heavy media streaming since i cut cable and it doesnt matter if im streaming from an app or a cloud service the speed is impeccable. Old tech, good performance

Beware. This router is 2013 technology however my unit was manufactured in 2019. I have always looked up to ASUS and bought their products, always top notch whether it was routers or mother boards etc.. I see I now need to look more carefully. I would look to other Manufacturers that are tech gear leaders and get a router that is more contemporary. The product performs well, I don't have any real performance complaints.
Read other reviews too. Lots of complaints regarding buggy firmware in their user interface (UI). I found a site with open source firmware for this router. Lookup ASUSWRT-Merlin project. I downloaded the latest firmware and was completely satisfied with the UI.Lire l'avis complet...

Magic Quick Fix for Home Wi-Fi

We bought this for our 1900 sq ft home after struggling with the crappy wi-fi modem/router our ISP gave us...and then another budget wi-fi router we bought. We had constant dropouts, weak signal/no signal and pixelated video....and our bandwidth use is light. Miserable. This gizmo made all those problems disappear. I love my RT-AC68U routers with dd-wrt and worth the extra bucks inverted!

I have two Asus RT-AC68U w/dd-wrt in my home, in 2G doubles the speed of my past router, in 5G is incredibly 4 times faster than my past router. dd-wrt is very stable and provides very usable extras that other routers did not provide, for example 5G Speeds Wireless Bridge that keep fast speed. Rock solid machine, reasonable cost.

So far so good

I've been buying Asus routers for home/work for about 6 years now. Only one has died so far. This is the first refurbished one. It came packaged pretty good. Not a retail box but I was satisfied. Worked right away. Did the latest update no problem. I received it in 3 working days (Very nice Newegg). I gave it 4 stars for now. It will be 5 if it makes it past the 30 days warranty. Best wifi modem I've used in many years.

It was easy to setup, easy to navigate and it's been working working perfectly now for several weeks. There is great video's on YouTube on the modem too to help with anything if you get hung up.
