Great motherboard if only there where more PCI slots

First of all I would like to say this is another quality board by Asus using the LGA 1156 socket Intel chip sets. Unlike most other boards released at the time of this board's release in late 2009, there were few if any other boards out there that have USB 3.0 support simultaneously with SLI. If you had an SLI config, you lost USB 3.0 support. With this board Asus has solved this via some ingenious workarounds. In addition to USB 3.0, this board also comes with 2 next generation SATA III NOT SATA II (3.0Gbps). I haven't been able to test the SATA III as there are few devices on that market at the moment that support it yet.

The board is well designed with decent amount of maneuvering room. After putting it in my Lian-Li PC-60FNWX case there was plenty of room to parts around without too much congestion or parts overlapping due to the motherboard interfering.

Asus has packed with this board a array of pretty useful softwares.

Asus EPU: allows easy switching of performance modes, auto adjusts fan speeds depending on needs.
Asus PC Probe II: monitors core temperatures and fan speeds
Asus Update: makes BIOS update extremely easy
Asus Express Gate is a software that allows quick access to certain functions like internet without going into windows. This function however cannot be used in a RAID HDD set-up.
amongst other software...

There are two PCI 16x slots however if you use SLI both are reverted to 8x, you theoretically lose a couple percent in performance. This issue is averted in the X58 series for 1366 i7 boards but the extra cost for those components doesn't necessarily justify their gain in performance.

Great board, great performance, however my biggest rant is that there are not enough PCI 4x slots. This problem is solved in the P7P55D-E Deluxe however that board is nearly $100 more than this board. In addition, that board has poor device compatibility out of the box and requires a immediate BIOS update out of the box in most cases to function properly. Nonetheless, for price to function, this is undoubtly one of the best if not the best boards out there for 2009-2010. I have yet to see a new board release that can top this one yet as far as 1156 sockets are concerned. Maybe when Intel's new Sandy Bridge chip set is released in 2011...

The perfect meeting of new tech and affordability.

An awesome motherboard for the enthusiast on a budget. Pair this with an I7-870, good GPU, and an SSD, and you've got a beast, rated at 7.5 on the windows experience index. This motherboard is the perfect blend of newer technology, great CPU power options, and affordability. The only thing it's missing is native video output, but if you're looking at this board, you're probably intending to buy a high-end graphics card anyway. Also, unlike lower version of this same board, this one supports SLI for multiple GPUs. I've got mine setup with 2x XFX 3GB GDDR5 R9-280x cards, and there's nothing I can't play on max.Lire l'avis complet...

Excellent product.

I used this board to replace my stock cg 5275 asus system board. That board was an equivilant of a p7h55m. This board was so much better in comparison. I have never overclocked anything till I received this board and this thing makes it automatic. It is really nice. Also supports sata 6 gb/s and has usb 3.0. I have only had this in for a week but absolutely no regrets. I run with a intel i5 650 clarksdale with 12 gb gskill ripjaw at 1333. It allowed me to easily without effort oc my cpu to 4.5 . I did not push my luck. Great board for the price of 115 out the door brand new.Lire l'avis complet...

The appearance of this motherboard is very nice.

The Intel P55 platform has been with us for a good while now, and it is a real sleeper, having the memory controller integrated with the CPU gives it a nice performance advantage over competing products, even higher priced ones. If it has any serious shortcomings, it's the number of PCI-e lanes that it supports. With a maximum of 16 lanes of PCI-e 2.0 available for graphics cards, there is no room for expansion, if additional devices require PCI-e 2.0 connectivity.Lire l'avis complet...

Good LGA 1156 motherboard for fun.

I matched this board with an I-870. LGA 1156 is outdated but this pairing runs very well. Over-clocking is easy on this mb, but a good heat sink is necessary.

Highly recommend this as a definite buy.

Great board overclocks really easy. Looks great and is rock solid so far. has plenty of space for a second video card and it took my 8gb gskill ram just fine. has plenty of fan connectors as well as plenty of sata hook ups.Lire l'avis complet...

ASUS P7P55D-E review

After careful study of the technical reviews on the internet and comparison with the features that other motherboards have that are in a similar price range, I concluded that this motherboard was the one had the best price/performance ratio.Lire l'avis complet...
