Dream board - best ever owned.

I had my doubts about purchasing an Asus motherboard, although my husband has always used this brand and has never had problems. I on the other hand have always been an EVGA user and was such a devoted diehard fan that it took me months to make the switch. This was the best decision I could have ever made. Upgrading from my previous setup of an EVGA 780i board to this board was like night and day(okay so this is obvious 775-1366) there is going to be a difference. On to the motherboard itself: The layout is good, I can't say great since you are not able to insert a dual slot video card into the last PCI-E slot; a limitation to those that want to run a true Tri-SLI setup. Other than that the board is nicely setup and allows you to connect a multitude of peripherals. In my setup I have a Core i7 920, Noctua NH-U12P SE1366 heatsink/fan, 12GB G.Skill DDR3 1600 MHz memory XMP-1, 2 Sapphire HD4890 Toxic Edition Video Cards crossfireX, Creative Soundblaster X-FI Titanium Champion Series soundcard with the I/O drive; 1 WD velociraptor 150GB Hard drive (boot), 1 WD 1TB Black Edition HD, 1 WD 500GB HD for backup, 1 Samsung DVD/RW, 1 LG GGW-H20L Blu-ray burner, 1 NZXT Sentry LX Fan controller, powered by a Corsair HX1000W power supply in a NZXT Tempest mid-tower case; with 3 120mm fans, 2 140mm fans and a G.Skill memory fan; running WIN7 RTM. Setup, installation, configuration & initial bootup was smooth and sweet using my husbands ViewSonic Fuhzion 3D monitor; **my Acer 23" only flickered**, WIN7 loaded in 7 minutes with everything installed minus 1 set of memory and 1 video card. Upon entering the OS for the first time there were no errors and no unknown devices and the system flew. I have never had an install go this easy before. Setting the memory was super easy - entered the bios selected the XMP 1 profile left everything else to auto and the rated timings of 8-8-8-21 2T 1600 was set without causing any BSOD's, freezing or hiccups. Next setting up the video card was just as easy; installed CCC and adjusted the fan from auto to manual and the graphics were breath-taking. CPU just 2 changes and I was at 3.8GHz (easy). The bios on this board has an abundance of features that most users will appreciate. On a downside with the extreme overclocker; I have noticed that some features are not adjustable such as the ability to manually set all of the individual memory settings which limits your ability to squeeze every oz. of memory performance. The positives are you are able to take full advantage of your processor and achieve very high overclocks on air with this board either through V-Tune a windows based overclocking utility (easy and instant that records back to the bios) or directly through the bios through the tweaking menu. Either way you choose you will not be dissappointed. For a novice user upon first entering the bios you can become a little overwhelmed with all of the options, features and settings but the manual does an extremely good job of explaining every configurable option. This is the first motherboard manual that I have come upon that goes into this much detail about the settings and how each one functions. I must say that I was extremely impressed with the extra detail that was taken with the manual. Finally, the included software suite is a real nice addition to the operation of the motherboard. I would buy this board over again in a heartbeat without a second thought.Lire l'avis complet...

High End Motherboard

I bought this to replace a crappy stock system with an amd phenom x4 and crappy motherboard. The Asus P6T Deluxe V2 is everything i was looking for and more. It is sturdy and visually appealing. Being a fairly amateur builder i appreciated the q-connector for the front panel. EZ Flash allows you to update the bios in an easy manner with a flash drive. Many of the other tools provided are great but i dont use them to often. You also get an overclock tools for use while in windows, a few power control programs and a linux opperating system that boots before windows(you can turn it off) which allows you to check email, go on skype, and other basic things. The q-shield makes for a very simple installation of the back panel.

This board supports a lot of RAM speeds. I got mine running at 1600Mhz with only a profile change in the bios. The board stays very cool even when im pushing my system. It has 8 usb on the back panel and hook ups for up to 12 i believe. This board will do sli/crossfire but wont leave a lot of usuable slots for anything else so if you want extreme gaming and more you might want to look into another board. 6 sata ports is plenty for most people unless you are getting into big raid setups. 2 may be unusable if you have a really large graphics card. There really is a lot of room for expanding your system with this board.

I'm satisfied with my purchase. It works perfectly. I would recommend this product to anyone.

Best Motherboard out...

I am a video editor and graphic designer and had beguyn to build my own PC. I knew i wanted the Pentium i7 processor and more than 4gigs ram... I searched online looking at these "combo deals" and the motherboards just didn't have what i was looking for.. then i went to the reliable Asus P6T Deluxe2... This motherboard has its own operating system that loads in under 5 seconds. Also holds 12 gigs of rams and is windows 7/64bit operating system ready. I use an antec 902 case and this PC is a cool box of power. Whatever you throw at this mother board it can handle. I have no issues.. One of the features i like and i know its often looked over is the rear faceplate for your PC.. its insulated so no vibrations or anything.

I have not had any issues with this motherboard and plan on building computers in the future with the same bloodline in mind.

Comp Specs..

CPU:pentium i7 920
Mem:DDR3 6x2gigs total 12 gigs RAM Corsair
750w Corsair power supply
antec 902 case

bluray optical drive and DVDr burner
ATI radeon ultra HD graphx card
hooked up to my 32" olivia 1080p flatscreen

P6T Deluxe V2

So far so good. Haven't had and opportunity to really put it to work. But it took the latest bios. Took 30 GB of ram. (3x8 and 3x6 triple channel sets I had.) I had to test with and i7 940. But with bios update, it should take any xeon of its generation. Booted into windows 10 without a hitch. It does however not come with a backplate.Lire l'avis complet...

Stable, tough, great design, pricey for it's age.

Hasn't aged the best, having no SataIII in the age of SSDs or on-board USB3, but it's a great board with many features. Even before I slowly broke the motherboard in (to recondition the 6/7 year old capacitors that had been sitting around unused) voltages were rock solid and I mean rock solid, vcore drop was minimal and there were and so far have been no issues at all.

It overclocks like a champ, I've put 218 bclock through my CPU without a hitch.

Board VRMs never go over 42C with a i7-920 running 1.35 Vcore at 4.18Ghz. I expect at least as long a life from this product as it is old.

Very well designed.

Cons? It's a dead platform and supply is running out for x58, so prices are never going to be nice.

Great motherboard, tons of features, rock solid performance.

Originally had the P6T Motherboard and upgraded to the P6T Deluxe board and its a rock solid board and very user friendly. This is a great board for Windows 7 as all Asus utilities install and function great for overclocking if needed. The downside is none of the Asus utilities work at all in Windows 8. So depending on your needs and OS choice I would highly recommend this motherboard for a gamer or business use.Lire l'avis complet...

Works just fine.

Needed a motherboard for a project I'm working on and came across some information on using older hardware such as the X58 platform, having decent performance with the right hardware. Decided to make the move with this motherboard and can't say I'm disappointed. It works without any issues so far as a used board. Backed up and updated the BIOS with ease using the manual from Asus's website. Dropped in a Xeon X5675 (6 core 12 threads) and detects it no problem. Definitely advise removing as much of the bits of dust as best as you can and carefully removing the copper cooling on the board and replace the thermal paste as mine was dried up. You can take it a step further and replace the thermal pads as well. Very important if you plan on overclocking. Temps lowered after doing this. Will provide update after more testing. Would recommend.Lire l'avis complet...

Great value

These old boards were once top gaming rigs. They are still useful and high performing with Xeon chips such as the 5670.

P6-T DELUXE V2 OWNER REVIEW

Having built two complete computers using the P6T-Deluxe V2 board, they are rock solid performers with the Intel i7 cpu, I had ordered this board due to myself messing up the cpu pins on my original board. This board came to market in 2009 and still is a great 1366 chipset board today 3 years later.Lire l'avis complet...
