Best of the best. Worth every penny

I paint for a living. I have been using iwata airbrushes since around 2003. I have the basic Eclipse all the way up to this Micron. The new design of this CM-C Plus 2 is amazing for anyone that sprays serious amounts of paint. I was a little concerned about the new trigger design since I'm use to the round trigger on all of my iwatas. But I'm considering adding this trigger to my other brushes now. It gives more precise control of paint flow. The crown cap holder is a nice luxury. I'm sure all of us painters have crawled around our shop looking for the cap after we knocked off the table or dropped it.

If you aren't familiar with the Micron airbrushes, then you may not understand how anything could justify the cost. Truth is, if you are just a hobby painter it's probably not the right brush for you. If you make a living or even sell your airbrush work for money then it's a no brainer. You have to use it to believe it, but this thing is smooth spraying. No splatter on overspray. Paint looks soft when sprayed. Take the crown cap off, reduce your paint and turn the compressor down to 10psi and you can literally get hair size lines while almost touching the surface. Even with the crown cap on from a little farther back you get lines smaller than a standard HP-C Plus with its cap removed.

The Microns have an adjustable trigger spring that allows you to set the tension to your liking on the trigger pull. Also, the needle adjustment dial on the rear of the handle is great. You can keep it wide open or set it so the trigger stops at any range. Great for up close detail work where a split second twitch can ruin your work. If it's set at a certain range, you cannot pull back and blow a load of paint everywhere.

You may hear people say you can't spray waterbased paints through a tip this small. That's just nonsense. I spray waterbased auto paint daily with this brush. Like any waterbased paint, you will get tip dry much faster than solvent paint. But there are an abundance of reducers on the market now that almost eliminate this. Almost. But it is no problem. Just "pick" the paint from the needle and keep spraying.

Wide open, this brush will spray between 1/2-3/4 on an inch wide. So if you aren't doing tiny tight details (tip of a toothpick dot size or hairlines) , you can get away with the crown cap on. I understand not everyone has this kind of money to spend. But if you get paid for painting, it will pay for itself and increase your potential. It will simply take your painting to another level.
