AMD set the bar high with the K6 processor. What can be said that hasn't been said before? Sure, in the modern world it's a dinosaur but I still use it everyday in my antique Compaq Presario running Windows 98se and I multi-task like crazy burning CD's with dual CD-R/RW drives, surfing the web, writing scripts/files/documents and man that ole K6 just pulls the load like there's nothing to it.

I've been using the same K6 processor with stock heatsink & fan in my Compaq Presario Desktop PC for more than 13 years now (sometimes it's powered on for more than 24 hours straight) and the K6 takes all the heat I can generate.

I just got a sweet deal on a K6 processor so I bought it to use for building another motherboard that can handle more memory than my Compaq Presario with it's Camero motherboard that's maxed out at 512mb.

Long & short of it - AMD - is the processor for me. When I buy or build a new system with "modern processor & component technology" ... it will BE an AMD !!!Lire l'avis complet...
