Christmas Story

There is nothing to "dislike" about this movie. It has to be one of the very best non-cartoon Christmas must-watches ever. I love everything about it right down to the narration. I rank it right up there with the oldies, eg, "Miracle on 34th Street", "What a Wonderful Life", "Holiday Inn", and "Christmas in Connecticut".
I bought it for my adult son (29). We used to watch it together when he was a little boy, and he still watches it. His young lady (21) had apparently led a life without seeing this movie. I think they must have watched it 2-3 times the week before Christmas. She got to see what she had missed out on all those years.Lire l'avis complet...

A classic now

This movie called "A Christmas Story" commonly known as Ralphy is and has been a must watch now every December(before, on, or after Christmas) just like the Rankin Bass, Peanuts-Charlie Brown and the 1966 Dr. Seuss How The Grinch Stole Christmas Specials are :)

Dvd arrived in perfect condition. No scratches or defects. Case and all paperwork included.

Is the 2-Disc Special Edition Worth It?

My answer: Definitely yes. Granted, the 20-minute documentary is non-informative, and there are a few more extras that don't work as well. But, the movie presented in a restored picture with brighter colors (and, sadly, with a few tiny pinches of dirt and grain), and a good commentary track by director Bob Clark and actor Peter Billingsly really makes the Special Edition worth buying, even if you already have the other bare-bones release. Oh, and there's a fun featurette on the BB-gun in this movie as well.

Now as for the movie, this is one of my two favorite holiday films, alongside National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. It's more of a compilation of stories tied around one boy trying to get through Christmastime and earn the Red Ryder BB-gun he's always wanted for Christmas.Lire l'avis complet...

we'd heard this was "such a good movie" but - way TOO MUCH SWEARING. Really surprised since it was done in the 60's. My guess is you had to grow up watching this as a kid to think its "so good". I would NOT recommend.Lire l'avis complet...

Great movie. The kids even enjoy it. It's nice to actually have a decent movie that is clean and sit down and watch with your family. Those are hard to come by these days......
